What a load of sxhit. How many times was the word Chef used in the show?. Also could that bald headed chef drill instructor wxanka be any more Sydneycentric? He treated Ash and Amanda like a pack of country hicks and now he is doing it again to the Perth team of Sandy and Andre. Axrsehole.

Expect the Sydney couple to last a lot longer this time regardless of popularity or performance.

Seven executives went ape ********** when the brother and sister team were voted out so early in last year's series.

Having Dicko on aus TV is depriving a perfectly good pub in england of it's resident bore.

He's good - get payed bucketloads for something which costs money to be in england

He was on SEN the other day and even more of his 'personality' came out.

And is the young Blond chick a dead ringer for rebecca gibney when she was younger - not quite as cute though

Dicko isn't a good voice-over guy, what happened to Curtis?

From memory Curtis declined the hosting job for Season 2...and cos Dicko is Ch 7 big get, they chuck him in wherever they can get!

Personally, I think last nights was a bit boring..all they showed was them cooking....they could have showed a bit more of the decisions the other halves were making which concerned the restaurant!

Yeah tonight's was pretty, good. We got to see how they acted under pressure, and some couldnt cope (see Sandy from Perth). The Adelaide guy, I think its John, is so full of himself it isnt funny!

Yeah, I wasn't too impressed with the Adelaide guy. I thought the other guy who had worked as a chef (from Brisbane?) was excellent - he did his work, but he also helped and encouraged the three that had never worked in a professional kitchen.

Matt Moran was very good tonight, a few of his comments were a little puzzling though. Like when the raw brains came back and he said to Rob "I am never eating in your Restaurant", hello...ROB WONT BE CHEF!! That is what they employ chef's for!

I think Moran was just letting Rob know the standard of food that is required for a restaurant - especially when the Melbourne one will be based in Fitzroy Street. I also reckon he was knocking Rob down a few pegs (what the hell was he thinking when he said to the judges...including Caterina Borsato...that Melbourne didn't have good Italian food?). And I think that the bollocking that Rob got would be very mild compared to what he would get if he was a real apprentice at Moran's restaurant.

Can anyone else see how blatantly obvious it is that they are putting down the Melbourne and Perth teams and pumping up the Sydney and Brisbane team?

Putting down the top 2 from last series and pumping up the bottom 2. I dont know if it's just me but it seems so obvious and exaggerated.

It seems obvious that theyve deliberately made Perth akin to pushing a barrel of $hit uphill with their dodgy 2 story location and 2 unfit fat ppl who cant get out of bed early enough to be at work before 10am (when every other crew is working by 7am) and think working til 8-9pm is "working late".

I think after Perths success in the last series 7 are trying to rid themself of Perth early in this series. The reason is obvious... boost ratings in melb syd bris.

**

And as for Melbourne... well they deserve bagging... it seems they dont really know what they want and seem to be all over the shop with pie in the sky ideas.

Personally, I think theyll develop a great Italian Ristorante... they just cant present a business plan to a bank if their life depended on it.

**

Adelaide have the edge thus far by virtue of the best presentations to the bank. Expect a big let down once the restaurant opens and they fail to live up to the early hype about how good they are.

**

That Bella chick from Sydney is annoying. I think there teamwork will let them down. Though Manly is a great location.

**

And here's the tip... Brisbane will win!!!

Their location on Park Road at Milton is perfect for a "casual elegence" French style restaurant as Park Road is the premier first class dining strip in Brisbane and Queensland. At the first bank the Sydneycentric knobs on the panel ridiculed them for pitching such a sophisticated restaurant for a city they perceive to be a backwater hillbilly country town. How wrong they are.. Luvre is a perfect fit for Park Road and Brisbane.

Expect a superbly attended restaurant once it opens!

I didn't see last night's episode (I think they're repeating it on the weekend, so I'll try and catch it then), but if their attitude last night was anything like in the first two weeks, they deserve all the bagging that they're copping.

I doubt they'll develop a great Italian restaurant. Melbourne is just packed to the rafters with Italian food. From the top end places like the Grossi Florentino and Cafe di Stasio to the big serves of pasta with extra salmonella at family feeding barns like Sofia's, I just can't see how they can make themselves stand out from the rest (well, apart from the film crew, of course).

They're located on Fitzroy Street, and the one thing that street (well, that area) lacks is a good French bistro. That's the path they should have headed down.

Brisbane and Adelaide impress me the most so far, having both guys as chefs is a big advantage as well. Perth i think will flop, the fat dude is doing it on his own really, the mother doesn't have a clue whatsoever. The Melbourne ********ers are pretty much trying to look good on tv rather than put in the hard work it takes, and if that's going to be their head chef....we'll be guaranteed plenty of tears and failure.

Ok this is my take. If anyone is getting pumped up by Seven its Adelaide...How else can you explain the editing...lots of emphasis on the whole 'Mum and dad' angle, from the covering of school books on the resteraunt floor by mum in last nights episode, to the inclusion of the kids in the opening credits...these guys are getting painted as the Mum and dad battler equivalant of Ash and Amanda from series one.
And yes...its as clear as crystal that Perth is getting screwed here...this isnt footy and i hope the best team wins regardless of location, so this isnt about bias...but come on, its just so obvious that there getting set up for the fall here. And how patronising are the 'bank' with their Sydney centric culturally elite condesencion?...

Just watched the Sunday night episode of My Resteraunt Rules...More Sydneycentric condescion towards Perth...apparently even are rock Lobsters are the worst in the country. I can handle Perth being useless, having the worst resteraunt, being legitmately awful....but i cant handle Sydney chardonnay sipping cultural elitists who think we are one generation out of the tree coming here and being patronising snobs in the name of 'reality television'. My gut tells me we could open the best resteraunt in the country and these knobs would still be carrying on as if they just entered some hillbilly fried chicken diner with racoon and moonshine on the menu.

Eh? They spent a fair amount of time bagging Sydney and Adelaide as well. I reckon Perth received only mild criticism compared to those two.

The Melbourne team were lucky they got the chef they did - they boys still have no idea of what they're doing though. They'll get eliminated sooner rather than later, but their chef will have no problem getting a job somewhere else.

For me, Brisbane should be able to win it. The only thing Brisbane needs to do is for the chef to make sure that his wife doesn't sing. If they can manage that, it should be a walk in the park for them.

Anyway, the one thing that annoyed me was allowing only one hour for each restaurant to present their menu. Of course, it ensures that mistakes will be made, and tv loves that, but over in the real world, what good quality restaurant would serve 3 courses (with different dishes for each guest) in just one hour? Still, if it means that the blonde headed judge gets indigestion, then I'm all for it.

Adelaide is the golden couple as far as im concerned, they may have copped it last night, but they still have a fair bit to do to catch up with Perth, thats been copping it off the three judges for the first series and i see no indication its going to change. Like i said, i can handle Perth having a crap resteraunt, so its not that im blind to the obvious shortcomings of this latest Perth effort for this show. But to see these three Sydney snobs coming in with their noses pointing at the ceiling...i would just love to knock Matt Moran out.

I think you'll find that Caterina is from Melbourne, whilst the two blokes are from Sydney.

I don't have a problem with Matt Moran - the guy does know what he's talking about.

I've been watching too, and I'm enjoying it. :)

The only judge I like is Moran - the other two are deliberately being critical whereas whenever Moran is critical at least it's warranted.

Were all three judges on the show last season?

And what do you think of Dicko compared to last seasons host?

Nah I like this second series, I can't really compare it to last year as I didn't watch it much!

I don't like Adelaide at all

Go Perth and Melb and Syd LOL

Agree with others , last years was a fantastic series, this years is dull , a pale imitation from `04`s

Agreed. Really dislike Perth and Adelaide whereas from memory last year every couple were endearing. If I'm looking for something to blank out too though, I'll still have it on.
