Home Isolation Advice:

What to do if you’re feeling unwell

If you are severely unwell, such as having difficulty breathing, call 000 (Triple Zero).

If you have travelled anywhere overseas in the past 14 days and have COVID-19 symptoms, seek testing at a COVID-19 clinic or contact your GP (advise your GP of your travel history) and isolate yourself.

If you have NOT travelled overseas recently, but are feeling unwell, visit your usual health care provider. Avoid contact with others if you are unwell.

Dear posters: unsubstantiated advice will be deleted. We understand you want to help, but #fakenews blah blah blah we're not allowing any disinformation. Got some great advice about washing your hands whilst dancing like David Byrne in Once In A Lifetime helps kill the virus? That's fantastic, provide a link to a reputable source.

Me too. I thought I remembered checking it out once before, but must have misremembered.
Just checking the account, it states that it's a parody.

Good on you Paul, I knew you weren't a campaigner!!!

Just got word from someone who works at RAH.

15 more coronavirus cases transferred to ICU in past 4 hours.
Briefings underway with police, defence and some private security teams. Apparently the take away is that lockdown is imminent.

Not sure how reliable that is but he has been so far on his updates over the past few weeks.

Anyone else at RAH heard similar?
I get the daily calhn staff emails so can confirm tomorrow.

China will also be quicker to sweep it under the rug too.
Can they though?

Much of the population were very upset at the treatment of the medical staff who were silenced.

Expect clinicians would do the same again.

You’d have to think these would be existing cases that have escalated to ICU? Marshall hasn’t enforced the gatherings of 2, if he was aware of a rush of cases I’m sure he would have

Didn't they expel foreign journalists a couple of months ago
No idea, but woild not surprise.

As much as the Chinese want to cover up, there will clinical staff who will offer up the truth.

Expect so as the ID ward contained most cases & if they deteriorate, they would be put in ICU.

...doesn't look like it's slowing down?
The key data is the number of new cases. They were dropping until yesterday when they increased to 528, the second highest daily total after March 22 which had 537

Optimistically there has been a dip in these until yesterday. Hopefully this shows that Australia is getting on top of things.

Pessimistically we could be seeing the changeover from infected people coming from overseas to community transmissions. If you plot community transmissions as defined by the WHO (not acquired outside the particular country) then the numbers “could” be in the early stages of exponential growth. Hopefully not!

Ha, went through the kids baby stuff today...1 litre of hand sanitiser

Almost the entire Respiratory ward at the RAH has been turned into a makeshift ICU so they wouldn't have to move them.
Ok, I assumed it was the ID ward because of the reverse flow aircon, etc... but yeah, all the stable patients are in the 1 ward... for now.

SA is an island within an island, and I suspect we might be leveraging that advantage quite well. I'm hopeful that in the not too distant future we'll be looking out at the rest of the world, with our bakeries open and children playing in the streets....

Adelaide is lucky in that no one wants to go there. Funny how that old joke is coming in handy. 🤣
