well after the game Terry Daniher didnt seem to be too bothered about it either did sheeds.David Hille showed alot and he clearly has a future. Clearly the Ansett Cup is not a priority of Essendon this year, just look at the positions for the game, up forward was hille, mcveigh and even mcallister. Solomon was holding down a key position as was moorcroft at one stage !
I honestly reckon they learnt their lesson in 93/94 when they won the ansett cup and flag in 93 and then won the ansett cup again in 94, thus making the side relax for the seaon of 94 when they believed they could just turn up and win another flag with their talented team. I reckon Essendon arent aiming to win the cup, they want their players to come down to earth and not go into season 2001 with big heads like 94 therefore sheeds is experimenting like last nights mixed up lineup. The thought of staying on top is clearly on sheeds mind with Viv Richards talking to the players last week about what it takes to stay on top year after year just like the windies did in the cricket in the 80s. Essendon learnt their lesson in 94 and wont make the same mistake this year. Forget abut the ansett cup results, only take notice of round 1 against the kangaroos. Those that rant and rave about us losing now WILL have egg on their faces come the real thing.

Bad luck Easty, those South Australians showed no mercy last night on your beloved Bombers.

The Windies stayed on top so long by intimidating their opponents. last night Essendon wouldn't have intimidated a bunny rabbit.

which is what I am saying, maybe they are taking it easy in the ansett cup to not allow the players to think it will just happen which might happen if they won the 2001 ansett cup just like in 94

What a load of crap Easty. You are just trying to convience yourself that Essendon will be as good this year as they were last year. Essendon were a 10 goal better side than everybody else last year but that won't be the case this year. Essendon have been on a high for the last 2 seasons, that will be very hard to maintain this year. I know it was only the Ansett Cup but you lost by 13 goals to the team who ended 3rd to last, last season.

Easty!

Were they not playing for Michael Long?

Looks like you guys will miss him for the first round of the season now.

Not trying!

Tell the truth, you were beaten by a better side on the night.

Isn't it great to see Easty try and defend his Bombers. "It was only the Ansett Cup". If they had won we would not have heard the end of it.
By the way Easty, how many times did you get spat on and abused at at the game last night?

Essendon are like Kylie

'Shocked by the power'

Admittedly Essendon haven't lost much recently, but when they are losing, they play like rabbits caught in headlights.

Let's face it guys, the psych advantage is blown to bits, and every team this year will be playing believing they can win.

And just how do you play 'to lose' can sheedy do that ? if he can he is the messiah
