I think kinglsey should play out of CHF, he is not the overhead marking type player. Many games last yr esp early where he was chf, he pushed up the ground and took a ton of marks. (rd5 freo)
Mooney is a great overhead mark, he did at one stage lead the league in contested marks.

Aggreed. But I'd still like a taller CHF and say Kingsley on a flank (if he is not to play at FF). I thought his ability to turn on the play and back toward goal was valuable this year, and with two "taller" forwards, would take the third defender, enabling him to take more marks (given that third def. is not as capable) The only problem with 3 "marking forwards" is the remaining 2 crumbers need to work overtime, to clean up any mess.

I would argue that crumbing forwards are even more of a pressing concern for us than tall forwards. Last season it seemd that unless the ball was marked within the forward line, then opposition defenders would almost always be able to clear. I don't know what our scoring ration to 50 metre penetration was, but it must have been pretty dire last year. If we can at least be competitive once the ball hits the ground, then our forward line would improve dramatically.

Geelong has plenty of good crumbing fowards, i think its just a matter of disposal. Our midfield this yr disposed poorly, esp guys like clarke and wojcinski.
If our disposal can be improved then u watch our crumbing fowards start kicking goals

I think the problem is these young midfielders might get too excited when they get the ball, and kick too fast. The only solution is extensive pre-season training focusing on that one area.

Now with the departure of Burns, there will be more chances for Ablett to get a spot in the team, and help out up forward. We do have many crumbing forwards, and if we can use them to the best of our ability, we'll get the big scores needed!! :D

Go Cats!!:)
