BACKS: Shaw, Laird, Boyd, Rich, Yeo
MIDS: Fyfe, Danger, Pendles, Ward, Liberatore
RUCKS: Gawn, Naitanui
FWDS: Martin, Wells, Bell

15 premiums. Next stop Crouch to Murphy and Mills/Oliver to Robbie Gray. :thumbsu: :D

(12) No wonder you're shot. :$

Reading not your strong point - thread is related to keepers
Counting obviously not your strong point either

I get that and its okay to be different, keep working on those big numbers over 10 - you'll get there if you keep trying

we all believe in you

DEF: Yeo (Sheridan, Weitering, Adams)
MID: Dangerfield, Ablett, Fyfe, Parker, Selwood, Pendles, Shuey, Cripps
RUCK: Goldy, Gawn
FWD: Hall, Wells

My midfield is finished and I'm in no hurry to upgrade my backline since the rookies are playing and scoring quite well. If they continue to score well I may even keep the likes of Weitering and Adams for the whole season. I'm also backing Sheridan in to hopefully improve his average to 80ish. I've got lots of money spare so next week I'll bring in Dalhaus or Martin to improve my weak forwardline.

Really different team to most. Ballsy.
How are going in overall?

I'm always tempted to try something like this but ultimately never have the stones

B - Docherty, Laird
M - Ablett, Fyfe, Dangerfield, Selwood, Cripps, Libba
R - NN
F - Hall, Buddy, Stringer, Wells

10-13, looking pretty thin list of keepers on the ground (with iffy Cripps, Libba, Stringer, Wells)
Hoping that some of my mid-pricers & rookies become keeper, otherwise I'm stuffed. Looking at you Lonergan, Sheridan, DMenzel, Weiter, Adams, Hickey
Also, ready to upgrade with $500K in the bank
Trying something different this year and gone for more mid-pricers, it hasn't worked out all that well - as yet!

R2 looks pretty ugly. Need I ask, Lobbe?

I'm doing horribly - about 29000th. My last 2 rounds have moved me up from about 90,000th. My initial team was bad with picks like McGovern, Barlow, De Goey, Sheridan, Rockliff etc and i got pretty much all on field rookies and captain selections wrong in the first 2 rounds so i've had to come from a long way back and i've burned through trades in the process.

I started with 6 midfield premiums but I had a mid/fwd link so i traded Barlow to Cripps a couple rounds ago and finally picked up Dangerfield this week. I'm happy to play 4 rookies in my backline for this round (and possibly more) and hope my midfield can compensate for that. It certainly feels really strange to have no midfield rookies on field this early in the season and to be playing 4 backline rookies but the backline is where the value picks are. It will be interesting to see if that changes as the season wears on.

Not quite so confident about Wells remaining a keeper, but as everyone else has included him I will too.
Also have S Gray in the teams atm, but will be upgrading him to a true keeper.

Shaw, Rance, Laird, (JJ, whoever replaces will be keeper)

If ever there was a year to load up in the middle and not have too many mid rookies it would probably be this year. Most of the best mid rookies have DPP so can be taken as forwards anyhow. As you have quite rightly mentioned, most of the best cows lie elsewhere this season.
Your team appears in pretty good shape now. Think you'll be a tough match-up come league finals.
If you'd just had a bit more luck with your selections early on this strategy could have really worked this year :(

Backs: Shaw, Rance, Laird
Mids: Fyfe, GAj, Gray, Parker, Libba, Wines
Rucks: Goldy, Gawn
Fwds: Martin, Hall, ZMerrett, Wells

??? over Libba, Wines and Wells.
15 at best, 12 at worst

Libba and Wells at least still have some cash to make. At worse case, they have provided a nice stepping stone to a premo player. Wines is the worry as you paid premo rates for a guy that is averaging 90. Low DE on the weekend didn't help, but high score of 101 is disappointing, both Wells and Libba out performing him well and truly thus far.

Hopefully he will come good, seems to be affected by Ports overall poor start. They should lift and hopefully Wines will as well.

My plan with Wines, I was hopeful that I would at least get 100 ave from him, that way I could ride him until later in the year before he became a luxury upgrade. At his starting price I was happy to take the gamble. Needless to say it hasn't paid off.
I've said it in another thread last week, watching him play a few times this season, if he doesn't win first possession from a stoppage, he is just a liability. Stands around with his hands on his hips most of the time. Not sure what the reason is. Perhaps conditioning, perhaps just lost his way and dropped in confidence. Not sure. Either way, he's killing me

Time to burn Crouch.
Add a premo with the coin

Hickey actually
Give and take - you can't have a complete team in RD4, so good rucks mean weaker lines elsewhere
But, I'm likely to rectify this next week - Goldy!

My set

Yeo , Bartel, Rich,
Ablett, jelwood, danger, parker, libba, wells
Goldy Gawn
Halls, Robinson, S Gray,

14, though a little weaker than most with sam gray(who i still think can turn it around:confused: )
Next round in comes Shaw and Pendlebury.
Round after Dusty. I will be much happier then!
