My kindergarten teacher was Rohan Smith's mother. Does anyone else have a tenous link to a league footballer? Maybe you went out with Brent Crosswell's sister or something. Tell us all about it

My ex-girlfriend's brother was engaged to a Hawthorn committee member's daughter (pre-1996-purge) and Peter Hudson was at the engagement party so I got to meet him. I don't think you can get much more tenuous than that!

My sister was dating Nathan Chapman at the Bears in 1993, when my son was born. He used to sign my little fella in as his 'nephew' to the players/officals daycare at the game so I could have a bit of time off.

My sister went out with Jock Edmond in high school. Not a footballer link but I had a punch on with Vic independant member Craig Ingram about 10 years ago in a finals match.

Nigel Kol [Geelong/Melbourne] was my teacher.
Brendan McCartney [current Geelong Assistant coach] was my teacher

Peter Riccardi [Geelong] was in my class
Brad Johnson [Bulldogs] was a student at my school.

Curly Austin was a PE teacher at Gladdy Park High when I was in Year 10. I remember picking him up with a lovely outswinger in the gym one lunchtime. Beautiful piece of bowling.
I went to Gladdy Park High also. I think Curly was at the school a little before my time. I finished Year 12 there in 1995.

Oh well...on topic...my Aunty and Uncle used to babysit Mark Mercuri, and remain close friends of the Mercuri's. Had the pleasure to talk to Mark quite a few times as well as his late brother.

My next door neighbour used to be married to a guy who was best friends with another guy, who happened to be the cousin of the uncle of Mark Majerczak, the former Carlton champion from the late 1980's.

I feel as if I know him.

Barry Stoneham was an assistant teacher in my Grade 2 class in 89, when he was at his top. Every lunch time he'd kick the footy with my mates and I and we thought it was pretty cool. He didn't pursue a teaching career but if there was one thing he mastered it was his signature. If he signed it once he signed it a hundred times.

Simon Madden taught at my primary school, but that was a year after I left. His wife (Mary, I think it was) was our library teacher whiule I was there though.
And a guy I used to work with is good mates with Darren Milburn.

Pretty pathetic really, isn't it?

Close but no cigar! I went to St.Theresa's in Sunshine. I left after 1986, and Simon started teaching there in 1987. For another interesting (perhaps not) twist, my Grade 6 teacher from 1986 is now teaching at the same primary school as my sister.
