Like Jesus, McGough has risen from the dead!

Fletcher has said that MCG will be there again this year and expects him to have more game time.

ALLELUYAH BROTHERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thats bloody fantastic news. At least someone shows a bit of faith in him. I'd rather MCG getting full game time than O'bree.

Are clearly the only ones on this board that rate Mark McGough.

We will start a pressure group to keep the man at the CFC (Figjam doesn't know yet but when he see this he will give me his full support I am sure).

Anyone that wants to join, is welcome, just post below and you will be added to the pressure group.

At the moment I am thinking of chaining ourselves to the Lexus Centre.

Hoggy, you can add me mate as I have always rated and been a big fan of McGough.

I haven't been on bigfooty lately, so I have probably missed some good stuff, but I have missed plenty of stupid stuff.

But on the McGough factor, I AM ON.

I am a huge fan of Mark McGough, and wanted the 27 on my back after his debut, but Steve McKee's 12 stayed put. I have got the Herald Sun ANZAC Day Special on my wall with Mark McGough, great.

At Telstra Dome, I sat behind the bench every week, and saw McGough running up and down, cheering him on, and have no idea why he is off. He did look stuffed, I wonder why??? maybe because he gives 120% every contest, every minute, and there is few of those. He is an absolute star, and when he goes in the Pre Season Draft, and gets picked up, he will not only enjoy his football, but he may come out with a Brownlow Medal hanging around his neck in a few more years.

He is slow, but he is a magnet. Has him being slow ever affected his game. His kicking has but you can fix that, he is still only 20, and has played 3 years of football. He has polled plenty of Brownlow Votes and won a ANZAC Medal in his second AFL game.

I have given it to Mick Malthouse all year, even when I have been sitting 10 metres away from his coaching box I have given it to him. It is Micks fault that Heath Scotland left the Magpies!!!

Mark McGough, I am on the bandwagon to save you. But Mark - I hope you leave the club. I don't want you to waste the ability you got, Because you are a bloody star. You will help a club to a Premiership one day, and it won't be Collingwood.

THANKS ALOT MICK!!!

PS: Stan, You have no idea mate - L-Nizzy - same. I remember that Mark McGough got 2 Brownlow Votes v Port Adelaide this year in Rnd 6, and I watched that game not long ago, and was it raining???

WATCH SOME FOOTBALL or Shut Up.

LOL at you having McKee's number on your back.

Yep, It was 2002 - and had got the new jumper. I wasn't going to leave it plain - and me being a big guy myself - i decided that the inform Steve McKee was the way to go. Shane Woewodin came along and I had 2 on my back before the BK ARMY established itself, and the number 28 lasted 1 and a half years before the guernsey is now in retirement and hanging on my wall. Next Year - I most likely will have the number 3 or 4, as I really am starting to like Lonie more and more. My username not included. Didak is just a star, lets face it.

Its crap people sayig the Mcgough can only play in the wet. Can any of youse remember his first game against Hawthorn that was a perfectly dry day and he had 22 touches and kicked 2 goals.

Why was this "wet tracker" bought into the side against Essendon to sit on the bench all night?

Hopefully Adrian Fletcher will be his saviour. He's got the clearance ability, just needs to improve his kicking.

I'll be on his bandwagon until the day he leaves. :)

GIVE HIM MORE GAME TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

what a lot of dribble.

yeah, it is dribble.

***Dribble to ********HEADS like yourself who know nothing about football***

Don't give me anymore of this ******** 'STAN'. Get in your living room, Watch some football, Analyse the games, Watch actual AFL Football, not just the Mighty Magpies, and then you might actually say something meanful towards the game.

Any dribble, it comes from you - How old are you anyway? Because your football knowledge sounds like it could be worked on, you could be something on this board, but at the moment you are nothing but a negetive poster with nothing. I really think you have potential dude - so use it. Watch some football and you will be right.

Why don't you just come out of the closet and say that you know nothing about football??

You mean as oppossed to you who thinks he knows everything about football and tries to put down anyone with an alternative point of view [Do you post on Nicks].

I think MM should give up the coaching job and just hand it over to you now.

In addition why don't we all just stop posting and just sit back and listen to all your worldly knowledge because, according to you, only you have the answers and all the rest of us are nothing but lemmings.

Anyone who dares to have a different opinion to you is either being negative, is stupid or just plain ignorant.
It must be good to ALWAYS be right.

If I were to liken you to a computer game, it would be Duck Hunt!

It don't feel too bad, now shut up and worship the Gough!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I really admire and like McGough.
He does have a major fault in his game with his difficulty in consistently finding a target on his right foot. He's actually seems to use his non-preferred left foot far better.

One of the hardest things in league football is to find the footy and cop punishment. He can do both very well. Something Bo Nixon couldn't do was get near the ball.

He can at least do a full pre-season, something he hasn't had the luxury of doing the last 2 with OP and a serious back injury.

Very rare to see players have good seasons if they have a bad or interrupted pre-season.

Lonie_from_50, if you had a left over Banks I'd be impressed but you actually have a real Steve McKee 12? All I can say is I am STUNNED!

Does anyone actually know the real story with McGough and OP? How bad was it and what is the status now? I hope it was very bad and now completely healed because if not he's always going to be slow and a poor kick and there fore limited in spite of his play reading, ball getting and clearance ability.

It is quite funny when you look back. I was 14 when I got it, and it was 2002. I really reflect back on my football based childhood, and the way it was. I collected football cards and the sticker books which were a great thing for kids, and even though I didn't play football, I was really into it and the guru as I still am of Football in my age group. I had favourites, normally ones on my cards, and I really loved those footballers, So I link with Favourite - underrated or unfamiliar players.

Steve McKee was a DIFFERENT as a footballer - dopey, big, unfamiliar - but he stood out as someone that I would represent on ONLY MY guernsey. Everybody had 35 (Daicos) 5 (Buckley) and 36 (Rocca) but I liked having the unusual number 12. And It proved good luck with his great 2002 season.

So I still have that same style, picking favourites before bests.

Well, What I have heard is -
-During the season Mark McGough had Osteitis Pubis, and had it in the pre-season, and that was from big footy.
-At the end of the season, Collingwood came out by saying McGough didn't have Osteitis Pubis throughout the whole season.
-Mark McGough told the club that he is looking for a new home.

At the Telstra Dome, every week I sat on the Wing on the Broadcast side (AFL Members) and that was with the Interchange bench. McGough was brilliant as once again the ball magnet and dominated Centre Breaks and Clearances and gave all 120% work rate.
He came off the ground every time stuffed and looked really tired. Hearing that he had OP i figured that was the reason why he had limited gametime and was stuffed/unfit.
But if he didn't have OP, why was he off the ground so long. The condition he was in when coming off then can be understood, because of his work rate.

So I am still unknown on the fact, Which is right? bigfooty or Collingwood?
