That hit on Danger was reportable ... just take the body out when he was marking ...it just seemed wrong to me..no intent on the ball. Its not 1980's anymore

No eyes for ball and charged into his ribs while vulnerable going for a mark and the ump waves play on.

A simple free kick would have been a good start.

Thurlow is 6ft'3 with the leaping prowess of Menzel and the foot speed of Dangerfield.
He was taken low in the National draft for a reason.
His form this year to date suggested he was going to go places.

Ruggles is no different to Jed Bews. A battler who is making the utmost of his opportunities.

Perfect summary. Thurlow is a potential elite player. There's a lot of polish and class to his game.

Ruggles might be a solid battler but I highly doubt he's going to be in the same league that Thurlow could have gotten to this year, and if we want to be a real premiership side, we need plenty of class coming out of the back 50.

You're telling me a guy picked with our last pick in the rookie draft this year will be better than a guy taken with a first-round pick four years ago, who proved he was an AFL-class player last year with multiple 20+ disposal games in the back half, showing plenty of class and polish for his age? Ruggles is more comparable to Bews, not Thurlow. It would be a long-shot to suggest that Ruggles could get to the level Thurlow could.
