Hawthorn never does it. North have in the past, but there's been no mention of it on their website.

As for selection, we need to get Sewell, Franklin, Gunston, Breust, Hale and Guerra back in the side.

I'd rest Mitchell. He's got a big year ahead of him and he looks ready. Same with Roughy.

Not sure about Gibson either. He had plastic surgery for his eye yesterday but he might be right to go come Saturday. For now I'll leave him out.

I guess we can be thankful we're the last game in the second half of round 1 as it will give them both the best possible chance of getting up in time, although the same works for the Cats.

We need Lake to take Hawkins. Yes, we keep getting agonisingly close even when he kicks half a dozen, but we need someone to shut the big fella down.

lake clearly has more than just a tight calf otherwise he would be playing as he really needs the match practice. There is definately some sort of tear which the coaches believe needs time to get better, no way i would risk him for round 1 unless we have some sort of intra club next week or a few blokes play with BH and he is right to go for those matches. Looks like its going to be hawkins v schoey again with little protection for schoey.
