Re: NAB AFL Draft: Thursday, 18th November @5pm

hmmm i think we'll have 3 then, (prestia, jetta and colyer) a true modern day mosquito fleet. But is this just a ploy for Caddy to slip through. It's too small with 3 of them.

It's a shame prestia wasn't 5cm taller, it's more of a shame he wont be available at pick 31 but if they think they convince the prince in hird they've got buckleys.

But God dang he moves well.

Not as if Geelongs midfield is massive, if he is as good as pick 8 take him. Simple as that. I feel we will take Prestia at 8, the more I think about it, the more I like it!

Hey at least it aint Gorringe!:thumbsu:

Re: NAB AFL Draft: Thursday, 18th November @5pm

Yep, his disposal was VERY good in the TAC. Someone was bound to take him first round as apart from being 175cm, he is worth it. I personally would take Altley but if we take Dion Prestia at 8, I would not complain. As good as Atley is, he needs serious work on his disposal.

Surely if Atley needs work on his disposal - You would have to go with Prestia.

We aren't Geelong or Collingwood who can carry average kicks.

Re: NAB AFL Draft: Thursday, 18th November @ 6:30pm Melbourne time

quite a bit, ive seen him play since the 16's championships, his kicking just might be miss read by forwards who underestimate his kicking power, he seems to hit the target more often when he has time to sum up the forwards coming to him, would have had him top 5 after the 16's championships and see no reason why we shouldnt pick him but im still hesitant with his skills.

DPS

Great to hear that you have knowledge of the underage system.

The more quality information that we have on this board the better.:thumbsu:

Re: NAB AFL Draft: Thursday, 18th November @ 6:30pm Melbourne time

Assuming the articles stating that EFC are still deciding between Prestia and Atley are correct - and that Hird and Dodoro have different opinions - Begs the question

Who should have the final say ?

List Management Team or Coaching team.

I would go with the List Management Team.

That is what we have to weigh up. Mind you Judd is hardly perfect in his disposal, so ordinary kicks have won Brownlows in the past. That said I am leaning towards Prestia as he is a better kick of the footy. That said if we go for Prestia I will be very happy.

Would people be happy with Heppell? I personally would almost pull the trigger on him, rated him at 2 on my rankings.

Hi Guys,

From all reports seems as though we are going for Atley...however Heppel has also moved down the peckin gorder...and also Prestia who is a Bombers fan will not be there til 31...so Heppell...who can go through the midfield and also backline surely would be worth a look due to his ability to play back/mid/fwd?....especially with the rotation rules??....just thought id throw that up there too!!....

Yeah well hey, whoever we draft i will support its not like cyril rioli is a tank of a man and i wish we had him, nor as you say ablett or chapman... But davey, prestia, jetta, colyer (who incidentally aint a great kick) meh!!!

In regards to Heppell, i see him in a roll like Sam Fisher whos is an absolute champion but will not win you games (saves games) nor have an immediate impact on our side, we need someone who can get in the middle and distribute to our running midfielders.

It seem hird is hell bent on Atley (he also defended Judd last year against Mike Sheahan), so i think Atley will be our man.

Under the heading "What the RFC recruiters say" was the following glowing description:

"The club is extremely excited to have Reece at the club and feel he will add to our ever growing band of quality midfielders as well as having significant impact on the group off the field with his strong leadership qualities."

Oh dear lord, they really are a hopeless organisation.

So much for the secrecy of the Reverse Top 10.:(

The AFL will be unhappy.

Got an email today from the AFL saying there will be a live coverage of the draft on AFL.Com.au.

Awesome!

I didn't read the fine print.
