Nothing is wrong with developing as a forward. The problem is we have enough forwards and Lamb would not fill the places of our two oldest forwards (Lecras and Kennedy) so what exactly are we to do with him?
Delist

Kennedy is almost 29. He doesn't need to be an exact replacement. Most of the gun forwards have different traits. Regardless, quality is quality - we should try to develop him as well as possible, if we have no need for him a few years down the track, reassess.

It's far too early, and there is far too much footy to be played, before he reaches a level where we'll need to make a decision about his future (assuming he doesn't bomb).

Not saying we delist him more trying to be realistic as towards his chances. We have posters already expecting him to become a superstar. I wonder what exactly they are basing that on.

He wouldn't be the first 'fan favourite' who this board has hyped up only to watch flop.

Fun police have arrived :) Isn't the whole purpose of a fan to make completely speculative comments about our team and players? I've seen enough glimpses from Lamb to see he has potential and I think the type of player he is would be a valuable addition to our mix in the coming year or two (irrespective of retirements). These are just my opinions. Sure it doesn't guarantee he'll ever become a superstar but it also doesn't mean we'll delist him or he'll leave if he doesn't crack the team this year (as a 19-20yo) either. We've got quite a few years to know, if I'm wrong about him I'll live with it, none of us have "magic balls" (Am i doin it rite?) to predict the future.

Please quote me where I said we will delist him? I'll be waiting.

This is the exactly what I was talking about. Just even mentioning the possibility that a board favourite may not become a superstar suddenly gets all the fanboi's back up.

Didn't say we are going to delist him just saying that I can't see a place for him in the team. Is that an acceptable opinion?

saw Chris Scott jogging along mounts bay round about half an hour ago, was really tempted to say something witty.

So the continuing protection of franklin from the umpires continues sigh.

Haha how is he a board favourite?!

Have I missed something? Compared to Duggan (of "Duggan is already our best player" thread fame), Tom Lamb fanfare is a microscopic fraction.

Lamb > Duggan

Lamb > Duggan
All you can say when blokes who have shown nothing serious yet and are being talked about constantly - sponsorship and marketing are doing a good job

I was taking the piss out of the West Coast board's ability to overrate our youngsters when I made that thread.

Here's a couple of hints.

How old are Kennedy and Le cras?

How old is Lamb?

What is the average age West Coast established players reach before they tend to retire?

What do we do it one of Le cras, Kennedy or Darling get injured / suspended?

So Lamb can play Kennedy's or Lecras' role? Amazing player indeed. Really the only role Lamb is filling is Darling's who pre 2015 was one of the most durable players in the club.

As I have said in later posts I don't see a place for him in the team. Guess time will tell.

The Lavenders told me that midfields win premierships.....
I think they have proven that to be an exaggeration.

Well you should have worked out by now that The Violet Crumbles always talk shit........ Hell I have a couple of Frocker mates ( I know shame on me ) and I never cease to be amazed that they rate Michael Apeness as the great white hope of emerging KPP that they have on their list, additionally they amuse me no end when they speak in glowing terms about their KPD stocks because they have Alex Silvagni waiting in the wings ( excuse the pun).

Go figure ????!!! :p One day The Lavenders might just figure out that you need a good spine as WELL as a good midfield to win the Premiership.

You can't see a place for him in the team now or ever?

Why did the club draft him then?

Long term Lamb is touted as a Nick Riewault style high endurance KP forward. One that can cover a lot of ground and is a very nice 194cm.

If any one of Kennedy, Darling or I'd suggest Le cras or even Hill get injured then if Lamb is fit and in form he will get a chance.

Are you expecting a 19 yr old KP forward in his second year at a club that just played in a GF to force his way into the best 22?

How many players have ever done that?

Lamb will take 3 > 4 years to develop, especially on a list like ours. Now if he was at Carlton he'd be their number 1 target.

Not now or the the near future.

I am expecting a young forward who needs to prove himself to show at least some fight and hunger to demonstrate why he should be at least in the frame as a replacement if the chance comes up. You don't have to be experienced to not drop your head when it gets hard.

So far I haven't seen anything to get excited about.

Against a Decent NM forward line the Hawks backs looks sketchy without lake so far
