Hard to know with the rookies because so many name players were left out. Hallahan and Woodward for the Hawks, maybe. Aish too much for my liking. The Geelong v. Collingwood game seems to have been a bit of a rookie slaughterhouse with injuries galore/

The main takeaway from the two games so far is that I'm thinking of some mid price options should the rookie not be available this year. Hawkins and Caddy (though not Zorko) are tempting. Suckling's also pretty much irresistible, particularly with the DEF rookie stocks looking very thin at present.

Oh, and though it's only NAB Cup, Mitchell and Beams are absolute locks, you'd reckon.

I'm sticking with Zorko until the end of round one, but after that if he's scoring like he did last night, hello Josh Caddy.

Fair enough. Keep forgetting about that stupid rule. With absolutely no support last night judging Zorko from that performance might be a little unfair.

Forget Hawkins by the way. He's a maybe with Supercoach, but not DT. Cheap though.

Maybe Zorko will be a reverse NAB Cup tease. Although having Caddy would free up some $$$$$$

Luke McDonald looks like a lock.

Good to see Currie get a run, couldn't hurt to have him as R4.

Really can't read too much into Ziebell's score to be honest. He might have a break out year but I'm not going to start with him.

Thinking the same on Ziebell.

Thing that I really liked about his game that puts him right on the radar was sheer number of tackles

He has the potential to be a 105-110 avg. player in my opinion. The thing is, I have two rookies starting on the field for my midfield so if he happens to gun it i'll consider him as M7 or M8. I don't really take risks on premiums.

Keeping an eye on Tippett for the Roos. It's a shame he isn't listed as a ruck and only a defender... The Roos said they thought he was the best defender outside of the AFL. He's mature age and played well last night.

Could be good for D8, as I'm not sure if Laidler is a lock yet.

Was hoping Murphy would do a bit more to convince me. Started with him last year...he's in my team atm but he's going to have to show something before R2.

Yeah, but how much can you take from pre-season, it leads us astray every year

That being said good signs for rookies, with Tyson, Michie, Kennedy-Harris and McDonald looking the part.

I definitely don't pick my premiums based on pre-season scores. I was burnt by this in my first couple of years playing but I've wisened up. Still- Murphy could be a risk? I had Murphy locked but may use that spare cash on a premium that i can rely on... I've already got Watson, Cotchin and Beams as underpiced premo mids, so I might skip on Murphy.

PA v AD - half time

M Crouch looking good, consider starting. Not liking Polec, maybe next year.

Edit: Polec much better 2nd half

Swallow looks good just by the stats. Retains place in the Scrub Turkeys for now. Will have to re-watch this game. Interested in Ryder and Hibbo. Also + rookies.

edit: That was one hell of a finish. Garn Gazza, love that guy. Great to see the suns get up.

Are people going to stick with martin from the suns? Didn't score heavily but still looked pretty capable. Side note: Jaeger looks like he can improve on last year easily. Scary.

The coach of West Coast said that if Ellis is fit he'll definitely be best 18... Seems to be going alright.

Keeping an eye on Sheed but not really on my radar.

The only two players I'm looking at from my beloved Eagles. If Ellis makes it through the NAB unscathed, he'll be a lock in for me. He'll be an interesting cash cow for sure

No love for Darling? Reckon he can easily up his average to 85-90
