Toxic has previously mentioned the uncertainty about Pendles' role being an issue. Maybe you can tell him where Pendles is going to play though.
So where is he going to play genius?

Why is history being ignored here?

When has Pendles ever played half back in the real stuff?

Do yourself a favour & stop being a sook :$:thumbsu:

I already said I don't know where he is going to play.

The current make up of the team matters a whole lot more than history. Adams & Treloar are inside mids, Pendles isn't really required as an inside mid now, and the other two can't really play any other position (except maybe rest forward). Pendles on the other hand is more flexible.

Centre bounce Mid
Defensive Wingman
Wing/forward
Mid/half back
Mid/half forward

His role could be any of those now that Adams & Treloar are inside mid #1 & #2. Not all above roles are SC friendly IMO.

Edit: when I say SC friendly I mean getting back to 120+

Pendles is one of the best 5 players in the comp, in an average side and has a consistent history of high scores. Do you really think when the real stuff starts you waste your best asset away from the ball? Sure he'll spend a bit of time down back and up forward and in a few other places but he's not going to be second fiddle to the likes of Adams. He'll be near the action most of the time.

Also remember many of the other proven super premo mids (in fact almost all of them) are going in with fitness question marks this year - Ablett, Fyfe, Rocky, Jelwood.

Has to be just about first mid selected

Does it really matter where Pendles is named on the field?

He will be in the centre when we need him to get a clearance. He will be in the forward line when we need him to score a goal. He will be in the back line to steady the ship when we are under the pump.

At $630k you're paying for one of the best players in the comp, a true leader, who will again average ~29 disposals a game, will give you AT LEAST a 115 average, and has 120+ potential.

Yes please.

Ask yourself this how is it any different to when Beams/Swan/Ball were sharing the load at Collingwood?

I rest my case.

Libba nowhere near it today. Serious concern. The Doggies may bat too deep in the guts now for him to be as relevant for SC as he was pre knee. He owned their centre aquare in 2014. Plenty trotting through there now...and they're all bloody good! (Still got him for now)

Pendles scored well when Collingwood had a better midfield than this.
