What mid rookies actually look like playing round 1 and have decent job security?

In terms of pure mids (no DPP) I'd say only Mills and Oliver. Davis from Gold Coast looking likely as well. But it's a weak crop this year in the middle; everyone else would be marginal at best for either productivity or job security. Would definitely not go light in the midfield this year

Mathieson got injured today. So question marks now. Keays played NEAFL match instead. Both will get plenty of games when time is right. But if selected for Round 1 they'll be on the very fringe of the team IMO.
