Not since Buchanan and Schneider have we really had a small specialist forward.

Papley literally looks like a half breed of those two. He has to get promoted off the rookie list but I thought he looked ok tonight, other than that fresh air kick his finish around goals was quite good.

It will be out of him , Rose or Hewett for a forward role in Round 1
Rose wins. Rose is ahead of those to by a bit IMO. He has looked quite alright at worst when he has played.

so Mumfords 25-30 odd points is justifiable?

Yeah he was doing well early.

He injured his ankle and didn't return after qtr time.

Yes, went off injured just before half time. Said it was a busted toe.
Should I be worried about his injuries? How serious is it? I think i'll stick with him(if this injury isn't too serious) and if he gets injured again during the season i'll just do what i have to do and trade him out.

Not gonna tell you what to do, but I would be moving him on now. Much better options imo. He is a key part of their side for sure, especially if they want to do well, but body seems very touch and go.

Yeah, surely not. It's a joke when they cancel lower league games due to rain. To cancel an AFL game, albeit a NAB game, would be ridiculous !!

It's also ridiculous when they can't get the ****ing lights to work but it seems to happen constantly in these hick town nab games. If it's not the lights it's the siren that sounds like a ****ing duck being run over.

We Saints seem to have a bit of a mozz on us for NAB games being called off in the last few years

It was in the middle of Sydney, nice part of Sydney too and certainly a place you wouldn't be able to afford to buy property in.

My post match/6 pack observations.

Heath Shaw. My D1 since day dot - you... complete me

Toby Greene is back in to my team as my F4, looks like there is some mid time coming his way

I actually thought Griffen was better than 90.

I don't have Ward , Shiel or Parker but if there is a shortage of mid rookies I'm finding room for one of them

Sinclair and Tippett will be alternating scores each week, pass for me on both of them.

60 from Papley is a pretty good effort from only 7 touches/ 5 tackles. If he plays round 1 and Buddy and Tippet spend more time up forward he could cash in. He just needs to get promote off the rookie list which looks a possibility after tonight.

For the life of me I don't know what Longmire sees in Dan Robinson - S.P.U.D

For real?! Nooooooo, Keays and Mathieson, we need you!! :(

Will happen, whether it's in Mackay or Brisbane though

CONTINGENCY plans have been hatched for Brisbane and St Kilda to play their NAB Challenge game in Brisbane on Monday.

The Lions and Saints are scheduled to meet at Harrup Park on Sunday but wet weather has been lashing Mackay this week.

More rain and thunderstorms are forecast for Saturday and Sunday.

Harrup Park has hosted NEAFL matches and a Sheffield Shield game in previous years and has a good drainage system with a Super Sopper machine on hand.

The AFL is aware of the heavy rain in Mackay and have no plans to shift the game but Brisbane talked to St Kilda about moving the game south if the poor weather continued.

“It is obviously the AFL’s decision … but if the weather is so bad that it is dangerous for all the players, we’ve talked to the Saints about playing down here on the Monday,” Lions CEO Greg Swann said.

I said I'd never pick Stevie J again afted last year... but God he's value. Can see him going 95+. Games played is my worry.

Can you watch Towers for me. I will be at my daughter's netball final :)
7 first half touches, but only 29% DE. Finished with 16 touches and 4 clearances, but had 6 clangers and only 37% DE. Still, he was getting plenty of it, and had a decent NAB 1 effort too. Interesting for sure, but not likely.

Thanks! The netball was a loss but my daughter got her first ever goal. Good times.
