I don't mind the structure in general. I'm not sure why you say Libba needs to be M6 though. It'd be a luxury of course, but I don't see any issue at all having him at M5. Gives you that one extra player in DEF or FWD so you don't have to rely on tose rookies as much. Much easier to find 1 extra decent rookie in the MIDS imo.Version 2. Looking much better balanced. I've deliberately gone very expensive for the rookies. It's much easier to work out what to do with the extra cash when I downgrade them to the cheaper options that should emerge over the preseason comp than it would be to find cash to upgrade to them from cheaper options.
That extra cash should come, and will allow me to look at upgrading at least one of my D4, F4 or possibly M6 to Libba. I feel if Libba is in a team he has to be M6 as having him at M5 risks making the midfield too weak and at M7 it leaves too few midfield rookies.
Merrett may seem a little weak for an F3 but I think he may have broken out even if Essendon hadn't lost it's list. In this lineup he could be a revelation.

That's true, but the problem is that Libba is a big risk. There's no guarantee that he'll come back to anything like his best quickly after an ACL and, if he doesn't, your stuck with just 4 premium mids which is too few. I guess that's why I don't have him at this stage.I don't mind the structure in general. I'm not sure why you say Libba needs to be M6 though. I actually tried that but I can't quite afford it. I expect Brown will end up a backline starter and Hipwood will be downgraded though.I'd move Mitch Brown to defence in place of Hipwood and take Cockatoo up fwd

Absolute bestCockatoo will average 70 at best surely?

Correction, he started with 5 premiums across the fieldI've generally started with 4/4/2/4 premiums across the lines and I think it has always been a pretty common thing for a GnR side. Pretty sure the winner last year started with 4 premium mids. Can give you a very balanced side especially if the rookies are thin in DEF & FWD. If I flicked him thats the structure I'd be left with and I'd be pretty happy with that. Only problem is he's so damn cheap its hard to forego having him.

Who hasn't
Qtr time on one knee on the ground
Big deal
Hipwood probably won't play much this year anyway, if at all.He will average more than Hipwood.
Similar price.
And he already has a link in the fwd line to defence.
I always had a chuckle when someone was tackled in my piss.. And even funnier when i was dropped into my own piss hahaWho hasn't

Pissing on your leg is always a great tactic for keeping your opponent away.Who hasn't

Fair enough. Nothing wrong with 4 though imoCorrection, he started with 5 premiums across the field
Youre right tho, balance, harmony, equilibrium, with 4..Fair enough. Nothing wrong with 4 though imo
Libba is priced at the equivalent of an average of 66.That's true, but the problem is that Libba is a big risk. I'm sorry but so much of that is just plain wrong.Libba is priced at the equivalent of an average of 66.
Even in his first season he averaged more than that.
His career averages went 75, 83, 107, 110, (x).
Let's say he only manages an average of 86 (only!).
You're still going to see his value rise by $110k, which is sometimes all you'll get out of a rookie who plays 4-5 games and then gets dropped never to be seen again.
Only you'll also get the benefit of 86 onfield each week, instead of some rookie and their inferior score.
54% of teams have him for a reason. And that isn't because he's a "big risk".
That used to be the popular structure before the 3rd midfield bench position was introduced last season. When that happened some people took it as an opportunity to have an extra midfield cash cow rookie but many others saw it as a chance to play an extra (5th) midfield premium while still having the same number of midfield rookies they'd had in the past. I guess it's a matter of personal choice.I've generally started with 4/4/2/4 premiums across the lines and I think it has always been a pretty common thing for a GnR side. Pretty sure the winner last year started with 4 premium mids. Can give you a very balanced side especially if the rookies are thin in DEF & FWD. He's out for me. I don't see him scoring enough to be a keeper and he will clog up M8 for a lot of people I think. I can't think of any player who came back from an ACL and scored near his best. I'll have him in 2017.After reading all these objective/subjective opinions! Im torn about liba!
