Haha, one passage of play he smashed it forward from the centre bounce which was to advantage.
He then followed it up with a hard ball get and contested possession handball, followed that up with a handball receive and another contested possession handball, then followed that up with a tackle that led to a goal.
I'd like to see Goldy do that in 15 seconds of play!
Goldy does that with one tapout.

I think we're entering a new...Gawn...

He's a changed player, fitter than ever.
I've heard similar quotes regarding Mumford over the years also

True, true.

As I mentioned in the Rucks thread, having durable ruckman is more important than any other line on the field.
The durables are Goldy, Jacobs, Nic Nat, Sandi and Blicavs.

But it is hard to ignore what Gawn is putting out. He's had 2 ACLs (which is obviously very bad), but is that it?

All I have to add is NAB scores. :drunk:o_O

You're talking shit, no-one has ever said that about Mumford.
Haha - you get yr knickers in a knot quick. You're the most arrogant bloke on here who gets his back up whenever you read something that doesn't sit well with you. I've never read anything half decent from you that would indicate you know anything about SC and appear to be one of these blokes that rides in on the coat tails of others.

Not a natural ball winner - seems awkward in the midfield. Just doesn't seem to run to the right spots
Having him in the midfield helps WC win clearances, but he doesn't do enough to justify a permanent spot in the midfield otherwise. Still a work in progress.

He's had a few knee operations other than the two ACL's which is a worry, but he's looking pretty good. Yr first sentence sums it up perfectly, especially if you don't have cover forward or on the bench. If he has an LTI than its an easy decision, but where you get caught is over those 1-4 week injury spans where you either bleed points or lose a trade. Plenty of options for two set and forget rucks, people have said and tried the exact same things over the years with guys like Mumford and Kruezer but still yet to see it really pay off. What rucks have come from having ongoing injury issues to being top 3 for the season.

You're killing me. I'm back to Goldy and Jacobs !! Do you sell cars for a living ??

You do realise this guy finished only 27 positions behind you last year?

Didn't watch game can someone tell me where McGovern played? How did he perform?
Did OK. Usual read of the play was supurb. Took plenty of marks.
Kicked the winning goal as he was playing up the field with the ball trapped down our end most of the quarter with a heavy breeze in our favour.
Went off with a slight shoulder complaint early in the 2d half. Cam back on and did his part. Said in an interview after the game he was just being soft.

Gawn has had his fair share of injuries true but showed a bit in his 2014 season to suggest he would be a handy type if he got his body right. Broke into the side after dominating in the VFL last year and didn't look back.

Get this he was drafted by Melbourne in 2009 and this is his first actual full preseason, really looking forward to seeing him playing at his very best. I get that he is a risk but there's too much upside to ignore. Should average 100 - 120 and scored 2 140+ games last year
