Sweet. It might only be a bit of hit and giggle but it doesn't take much to open those deep, deep insecurities harboured by supporters of the purple. They will never truly believe.

Until we meet next, I'm going with "is it too early to lobby the Urban Dictionary to include Fremantle Football Club's Season 2013 as an example of Pulling a Homer?"

Just saw some of the highlights, looks like Paddy will be having a delayed start to the season

I doubt he'll get many games this year

Loved what Ellis did today, apart from the knee to the head that is, hope we have him in 18+ games this year

He is saying all the right things imo, just a breath of fresh air. I know that game didn't mean much but Simmo is the real deal. Starting to get a bit of a heart flutter. :p
Agree. Will be interesting to see if they can back it up against Sydney next week

If they can, I will certainly be getting excited

Based on today, is Yeo looking good for a start against the doggies?
Definitely. Looks a very good prospect. Very good aerially, great pace and evasion, good intensity in tackles, decent kick. Maybe lacks some smarts and composure but only third season

Oh, and did anyone else notice, Suma not putting an extra man in their backline until they were already 10 goals down, sounds familiar right? Even Simmo put a man back when we were thumping them. People still think we made the wrong choice of coaches now?

Listened to the ABC at the end, but I was mostly interested in how Ken Judge downplayed the win, he said we definitely couldn't win the flag and wasn't sure we had the cattle to make the top 8.

Ken judge is a bitter tool at times but saying we can't win the flag and not being sure we can make the 8 aren't outlandish statements and border on being correct

Really happy with Yeo. Goes back with the flight courageously and marks strongly. Could be a replacement for Waters, but with more toe.

And nowhere near as likely to kick it to an opposition either

I bet suma didn't do anything today that Lyon wouldn't have. They would have had a plan as to what they wanted to do / achieve so I wouldn't be drawing any conclusions whatsoever on sumichs coaching ability based on today

That said Simpson was the right choice and I'm glad we've got him

I like Simmos arrogance. Told us it could get ugly, didnt realise he was talking about for freo.

I know your probably right, he just seems to go out of his way to be less than flattering towards WC.

Last year before Round 1 I was driving back to Broome, I'd been working south of Bidgy and I phoned in to sports talk on ABC radio and said that I was concerned we would get monstered by Freos bigger bodied mids. I suggested that we should play Hurn or Darling in bursts through the middle to help counteract it, he told me I didn't know what I was talking about and that the eagles smaller midfield would be fine.
The next day before the game he says on radio "I'm concerned the Eagles midfield might get monstered by Freos bigger bodies".
Absolute knobber!

I had something similar years ago when Lynch was playing CHB. I was at an eagles lunch and I asked if he would be better at CHF because of his size, marking ability (at the time he wasn't as rubber chested) and his big boot. I was told there was no chance. Next thing, guess who's playing CHF?
