ahh alright, my mistake, so basically after the three rounds the top two teams with the most wins/highest percentage play off in the grand final?

This from The Herald Sun

"TEAMS have had four of their five pre-season matches already determined by the AFL in a new-look NAB Cup format released this morning.

As was the case this year, each club will play two shortened `pool' matches in Round 1 of the competition before playing full matches in rounds two and three.

Teams will play for points in their first four matches, with a NAB Cup mini-ladder to be established that will determine the top two teams to play off in the pre-season grand final on March 17."

They really need to give Kerr the week off. No point rushing him back as we have seen he got very sore last year and had to have periods off. Let him have a week off, play one and then another week off.

You still sub blokes out of the lightning carnival right?

Might be worth giving Kerr 20 minutes in the first game, just depends on how much work they want to give him - the lightning carnival format actually works really well fo older blokes - you can really limit their minutes.

Then again - touch really never was his issue, so every minute he's out there is a chance to get injured

no newman? :(

Someone will need to replace LeCras - he's almost the only bloke in the squad mssing

Thought I do a list of who isn't named - it's probably easier

Brown
Kerr
Waters
Naitanui
SSelwood
Rosa
Schofield
Embley
Newman
Strijk
Dick

We've actually named 35 - so i daresay the replacement for Lecras is already in the squad. So the above names plus lecras miss out

These are the ones that trained today out of those not listed. I dare-say if it was a Round 1 all could conceivably play.

A Selwood, J Kennedy wasn't out there but is named to play. Not sure if McGovern was out there either.

I expect that both Stevens and Masten will be firmly in the 21 by the end of NAB as Darling did last pre-season. Both looked class acts today. IMO anyway.

Andrew Gaff Brad Sheppard
Mark Nicoski Chris Masten Matt Priddis
Luke Shuey Koby Stevens Tom Swift
Eric Mackenzie Josh Kennedy Bradd Dalziell
Ryan Neates Dean Cox Quinten Lynch

Sam Butler Jack Darling Ashley Smith
Scott Lycett Blayne Wilson Josh Hill
Jacob Brennan Patrick McGinnity Fraser McInnes
Adam Selwood Anton Hamp Jeremy McGovern

wow! - this promises to be a real treat watching many of these players do their thing...i wonder who will be stand outs, apart from the obvious,if anyone will really surprise, and be knocking on the door of the best 22..theres those you expect to do well-masten,stevens,hill... then theres those playing 'left right out' such as dalziell-what can he offer..or swift who's touted to have improved...so many to check out,the newbies etc.
