Great win by the mighty Lions tonight! ProUd of the boys!! We played a very exciting game of footy!

Yeo surely has to play Round 1. He was fantastic tonight!
Good to see Brown get on the scoreboard with 5 goals.
Hanley played a magnificent game. Think he will go to the next level this year.
Rich very deserving of the medal. Another who is going to go up a level this year.
I thought both Rockliff and Redden had underrated games. Put good pressure on the Blues.
Zorko. Enough said. Actually 1 more word: Jesus!!!!
I quite liked both Longer and Martins games. They are very good at ground level for Ruckman.
Merrett, Patfull and Maguire all had great games! Going to be very important for us this year.
Greeny was very exciting. 3 goals and played well!!!!
Bewick did a solid job. Got better as the game went on.
Thank you to the Demons for Moloney!
Beams came on and had an impact!
Golby very composed as always.
Good to see Karnezis 100% cement his spot for Round 1 if it wasn't cemented already!!!!

Great all round effort from the boys and hopefully our Nab Cup form carries on into the main season. Good to get the cash, some respect and hopefully a few extra membership numbers.

my thoughts on the game:

Redden was well down on his usual output. I think he had around 2 clearances. May have been managed as he missed last weeks game with a slight injury. You would expect him to return to his normal output by round one. Midfield was great tonight, and this suggests that there's room for improvement.

I would have Yeo and Bewick in my top five players.

Bewick was incredible. Covered so much ground as a small forward, and really worked over his opponent. 20 touches, 9 marks and a goal.

Rich: brilliant, won the ball and stabbed it within the forward 50 constantly.
Zorko: Pretty much BOG, IMMENSE
Polkinghorne: Including him cause he always gets picked on, has been great behind the play this preseason and this was his best match, continuing his habit of standing up in big matches, composed, won the contested ball and stepped in with a few i50s and a great goal
Hanley: Wow. Fantastic. Run, Carry, racking up possession, using it dangerously and making the Vic commentators jizz themselves,
Browny: Best I've seen him in a preseason
Karni: My acceptance that he can be an effective mid has been slow. He has slammed by mouth shut. Can continuously win the ball, use it well and is often too strong for his opponents: exciting
Longer: Thought he performed admirably against Kreuzer
Merrettefensive monolith
Patfull: Gone to the next level
Yeo: Movement brilliant, skills impressive, r1 lock
Green: Power v.2.0.
Beams: His impact suggested her should've been on earlier, extremely impressive within the time he was on

Add macca, bewi, golders,adders and everyone else to the list, they all played great.

I thought Vossy used the subs well. Beams came in with fresh legs and just ran to the the ball when others couldn't. Good timing i thought, kept Carlton out of it.

He's exactly what you want in a HFF, even from what many would consider a "quiet game". Continues to work, creates opportunity, dangerous up forward. He is fantastic. Big, big fan.

How did Longer go?

Without looking at the stats I think Kreuezer probably had the edsge but Billy contended admirably, got around the ground and generally looked far and beyond a 2nd year ruck.

How did Longer go?

Longer was impressive early, contested well around the ground but didn't have the body to go with the opposition rucks. Faded a bit as the game went on.

But was impressed with Martin tonight, backs up from the ruck contests really well. Does makes some skill errors but competes strongly and has will be an impressive foil for our no.1 ruck this year.

Got to agreee. Disappointed in a way because I thought Acorn could really be a factor withing the team but Bewick can fill the role more than adequately giving us greater flexibility.

On a separate note, what the **** was this about Acorn not coming off the ground when instructed? Not being a team player is never going to go down well, especially if you haven't already kicked at least 3.
