Rowe in for Blues

Sam Rowe is set to resume his playing career with Carlton, eight months after completing chemotherapy treatment for testicular cancer.

Rowe, taken with Carlton’s second round selection (No.62 overall) in the 2011 AFL Draft, has been named in a squad of 34 players for Sunday’s NAB Cup campaign opener against GWS and reigning Premier Sydney at Blacktown’s Skoda Stadium.

Rowe in for Blues

Rowe was taken at #44, not #62. Buckley was taken at #62.

How do we make these sorts of silly mistakes?
Hopefully the improvements we have seen in club and player info/vids etc starts to filter down to the site content.

Carlton players ‘Do it for Deb’
All Carlton players participating in Sunday’s Nab Cup opener against both GWS and Sydney in Blacktown will wear black armbands as a mark of respect to Debbie Lee, the wife of Carlton Director Greg Lee, who recently died of ovarian cancer.

Professor Quinn said that researchers were making “”small in-roads” in terms of their understanding of ovarian cancer, “but like any of these things we need more money”.

“So the easiest way is to get on the website – www.womenscancerfoundation.org.au – and join all at Carlton in ‘Doing it for Deb’,” Professor Quinn said.
  • The Carlton players will also sport black armbands to acknowledge the recent passing of Anne-Marie Jesaulenko (wife of the former Carlton premiership player and captain-coach Alex Jesaulenko), Joan McKenzie (wife of the former General Manager Keith McKenzie) and Bernie Baxter, the 28-game former Carlton footballer.

If I searched I could probably cut and paste a post from 12 months ago
CRITICAL that Sugar comes out and plays
Such a talent that needs to pull his head out and have a bit of luck

It's all up to Sugar at this stage as Mick sang his praises on radio on Tuesday night. Even recommended picking Sugar in dreamteam ;) Hopefully with a new coach Sugar will finally build on his first season. Coming out of contract this year so should be interesting.

Wouldn't mind seeing Casboult at CHF and Mitchell at FF for at least one of these games.
I would love to see Casboult and Mitchell in one and Casboult and Rowe in the other. After all, both Mitchell and Rowe are going to be our backups this year for Waite... so lets get a little bit of time into them and see how they go.

I would expect that we will go into each game with 1 ruck and 1 forward/ruck in each squad. I would like to see Hampson and Rowe play against the GWS, and Warnock and Casboult play against the Swans.

Look at the smile on that woman's face when she was obviously suffering immensely. Debbie Lee, too much guts. RIP.

Yeh, well noted Thy, :thumbsu: guts for sure.

I hope not, as I am sick of seeing Eddie playing as a key forward
I would be swapping the rucks around and having Rowe and Casboult up front rotating with the ruck thats playing.

Would give the ruckman a good rest really.
