The Blues abundance of KP forward line talent, will mean competition for spots during the season proper will be very competitive. With Fev (#1), Lance (#2), Waite (#3), and Brad Fisher (#4) taking the first 4 KP forward spots, the NAB cup will provide an opportunity for other talented prospects such as Hartlett, Setanta, Edwards and Bower. Would like to see Setanta lineup at FF, where he can use his height and pace advantage. Hartlett at CHF providing a serious presence, with Edwards in the FP or HF flank utilising his extreme burst speed. Bower is more of a CHB, but could be used up forward if required. Will be great to see these guys play in the NAB cup, and apply pressure to Blues top 4 KP forwards. Looking forward to Josh Kennedy’s debut latter in the season. The young Blues lineup still has weaknesses, but raw KP forward talent ain’t one of them. Great times ahead for Blues fans. :)

Back to back from the sounds of it.
Is that the prediction you are making for the Pies is it? Back to Back spoons!

I ask this because going through your list I am struggling to find some real stars of the future:

Rocca - getting on and already thinking about playing NFL

Buckley - Best is behind him

Wakelin - Just about finished

Presti - Never was and never will be

Fraser - Will he ever be fit

Licuria - Best behind him

Burns - Is he going on?

O'Bree - Please - doesnt even warrant a mention

Davies - Leon cant get a kick when it counts

Tarrant - Show some interest mate!

Holland - Average at best

I think Didak, T.Cloke and the guys you picked up in this years draft are the positives........ mmmm could be a long dark couple of years!

IMO Parrot, Edwards will be developed as a Full Back, that way we can get rid of Livingston at the end of the year.

Probably the most talented group of young KP forward talent we have had since the retirement of Sticks and Earl. We just need to get some regular quality ball to them and in 2-3 years time they will be very hard to stop.

What I would like to see in the pre-season cup:

1. Setanta playing CHF.
2. Hartlett playing Full Back or Centre Half Back.
3. Sporn as a "true" half back.
4. Russell on a wing.

All to play majority of games to give us a good indication of where there at.

My initial team would be:
Carrazzo Livingstone Thornton
Sporn Hartlett Teague
Russell Bentick Houlihan
Davies S.O'aHailpin Fisher
DeLuca Whitnall Betts
McClaren Walker Scotland
Int: (Bryin (rotation through ruck forward)), (Murphy, Simpson & Chambers (part of midfield rotation)), (MgGrath & Wiggins (experience/depth)).

That defense looks too slow for mine, especially the Half Bcak line. I'd prefer to see Russell develop on a HBF as he also adds some much need run and pace there.

Can he play as he was suspended in the VFL?
Good point, but I do believe suspended players can play pre-season games and their suspension begins during the actual home and away season.
