Much like your forward and back lines?
The backline isn't too bad? Got decent keys and swingmen to cover injuries?

Lmach thinks it's pretty good. You might want to rethink this post or he will throw some daggers at your team in defence.
Never said our midfield is good, just saying Brisbane's isn't.

We don't even have a midfield. In fact, the only thing that exists for us between the forward 50s is one big potato farm.

Funny! Our back line is probably where we have the most depth. We have 9 players who can play key defensive posts (Merrett, Maguire, Patfull, Clarke, Staker, Mcguane, Bourke, Gardiner & Mcstay), and have even more small lockdown/running defendersMuch like your forward and back lines?
Cringe when people talk about these matches like they mean something.
There's even made up bizzaro rules.
-20 min qtrs + time onI haven't heard how big the squads are going to be as far as I recall. Have you heard that they're going to be 30-35, or has anyone else heard how big they're going to be?
Thanks for that. Are you sure about all that though? I know the squads are 26 with 2 subs, but I'm a bit surprised to see that the quarters are 20 mins + time on (isn't that the same as the regular season? That would be surprising considering how hot it could be for some of these games) and I also thought there were a couple of experimental rules?-20 min qtrs + time on
-squads of 26 with 6 on the bench and 2 subs
-Normal season rules...
-...but goals from "Beyond the Paint" count as 9 still.

One thing I presume they will implement is the interchange cap. The stewards will need practise before season proper and iron out any issues...
Imagine the awkward halt in play when the first team is penailsed with breaching the 120 cap and the umpires are consulting. Thanks for that. I'm happy they have kept the increased squad of 24+2 subs, it helps teams get a larger number through the game so that we can have a look at unheralded players which is one great thing about the preseason games. Always a super goal fan as well. Such a nice simple easy change for preseason.
Forget about the interchange stewards the coaches and players are going to need serious practice. Especially now we are down to one runner it's going to be interesting to see how rotations work. I think defenders and forwards often had pre determined intervals of rotating but midfielders were pretty simple, go for about 5 minutes max then come off. The cap of 120 wont necessarily have a huge impact on the game but it will impact players getting used to how to rotate smartly. Teams with more versatile players will have a natural advantage as they will be able to rotate through positions on the ground and all without the runner getting sent on to try and sort things out.
To make the comp exciting.what is the point of the 9 point goal in games that mean literally nothing score wise![]()
but in a tournament format you're presumably trying to win to advance in the tournament and thus will try for 9 point goals at timesTo make the comp exciting.
Derwayne would be left with only his "On the buzzer" and "Chaos Ball" tag lines...
