Kerr is so crucial for us, I don't mind if he hasn't played assuming he's fit enough. He knows how to play footy.

Has anyone heard anything about Kerr yet? West Coast have been veeeeeeeeeeeeery quite regarding injuries in the last few weeks.
It's the deafening silence that is probably feeding my pessimism about Round 1 as much as anything.
Don't read to much in the NAB cup games. Sandilands being out for freo evens up the playing field some what.
I am confident our defense is better then their forwards. I think freo's midfield is better then ours though without Nait or kerr, but our forwards should be able to score enough to win us the game.
P.s Was really good to see Kennedy kick some goals. Not really surprised that he got beaten in the second half with the training loads.

i agree radio callers have to be a lot more descriptive to get a picture of the game in listeners heads, they also cant stop calling the game and let the vision do the rest as there is no vision, the triple m mebourne crew are my favourite callers
Looking forward to watching how our midfield goes in the derby. It is still the big question mark hanging over our premiership credentials and we were pummeled by Freos midfield in the last derby with no Fyfe I believe and the Swans also smashed us.
We really need to improve our centre square clearances to give our forwards the best chance to convert open forward 50 opportunities.

it's not just that we all see the problems the midfield is having and it's not just that we are not expecting Kerry to play - it's that we don't see reasonable options being trialled in the nab cup. Surely Hutchi or Carter would be the obvious guys to work alongside Pridda and provide a bit of enthusiasm and hardness in the middle. Neither of them seem to have been given a go in that role. If we can't win the clearances, I can't see us beating Freo (or Hawks).
Unless ..... the coaches do see the problem and are going to put one of these guys is to "surprise" Freo. I expect Hutchi would give 200% just to get revenge for Lyon sacking him from St K. With Woosh you should always expect the unexpected.

Based on last year's pretty predictable selections, I'm not so sure. I definitely don't see us including Hutchings or Carter unless there's been an injury at this stage (hopefully their WAFL performances do get them some AFL game time later on in the season).
What I do expect is to see our regular midfielders work harder and raise their intensity levels. I suspect that after losing Lecras in the NAB cup last year we wanted to be a little more cautious before the season proper (Wellingham sure could have used the warning too...)
