Showed his true colours last night ..

Well done Tsonga :thumbsu::thumbsu:

do you really understand tennis? give credit to tsonga, there aint many that would have beaten him last night.Tsonga already demolished Murray and Gasquet, theres nothing Nadal could have done.

How is this pretender #2 in the world?

Been watching him this week and it seems the only way he gets his points is due to unforced errors of his opponents.

He's down 5-2 at the moment against Simon and has not hit one winner .. if it wasn't for Simon hitting it out / into the net, Nadal would be a goner.

Overrated, not to mention arrogant and takes way too long to serve the ****ing ball! He bounces it about 45 times.

Only gained his #2 status due to his clay court domination obviously.

Wont be there for long, I'm predicting he'll slip out of the top 5 very soon and will be out of the top 10 in 2 years time
.

I was 100% supporting Rafa today. Just like I was supporting Fed to win the French.

Maybe they'll play the US Open with the #1 ranking on the line.

Nadal plays the percentages much better than Roger. Factor out unforced errors and Roger would have won comfortably enough but time and again loose shots gave nadal a lifeline in the last set.

Essentially nadal is a grinder and percentage player who waits for mistakes. his great talent is the ability to keep the ball in play. Without he talent of Federer ( or djokovic ) his amazing belief nd work ethis means he drains every ounce from his talent.

He is now the top man. Roger is still officially number one but is living on borrowed time. I am a huge Fed fan but will be surprised if he ever wins another Slam. his time has past and over the past 12 months his unique talent has been betrayed again and again but dozens of wild unforceds per match which he simply can't do Vs nadal or Djoko.

are u new to tennis or just one eyed? ever wondered why federer always has a high number of unforced errors against nadal? i am not even going to explain that, i guess you never played tennis or even have a single clue about heavy topspin groundstrokes on grass, pinning him down on the backhand side and exploting his only weakness but ever wondered the groundstroke winners category is more or less "even" in this years final? for a grinder, that is not a bad stat is it?? you are incredibly one eyed mate, instead of giving it to rafa you choose to blame federer for the loss? how about those 6 break point chances rafa had in the final set where he converted only 1?? how about the one where he double faulted 5-2 up in the breaker?? how about the number of aces federer served in the tie break to get him out of jail?? 45 unforced errors to 29 unforced errors, the difference is not that match, stop sooking, Nadal well and truly owns federer now, accept it and move on.I have read the number of ridiculous calls you have made in this forum your anti rafa vendetta is getting a bit boring, instead get some tissue and watch the replay again

Nadal has more talent than some think, he doesnt just grind away and have good work ethics to win but some excellent skills (how do you win 5 slams?) that are just getting better and far more variation in his game now than previous.

Fed on the other is producing a far amount more errors these days, and seems to be getting frustrated a lot quicker. The pressure must be getting into him considering he hasnt won a slam yet this year and with the likes of Nadal and Djok improving life aint going to get an easier for him.

It makes me sad but Roger's not the best in the world anymore.

Yeah, he's only been there 4 and a half years.

Seriously, there's no way he can perform at the level he has in the last 4 and a half years.

He had to lose a slam eventually, and he did.

Be a strange feeling for him to be on the losing side for once though.

Federer will be back. He was back to his best today in the final- first 2 sets he was shocking but he looked more urgent in the 3rd and it all clicked. The serving and groundstroke display in the late 3rd, 4th and 5th sets were reminiscent of when he was at his best. Also looked better at the net... The rain delay helped him tonnes in the 3rd.

Nadal was awwsome though. He's 22 years old. He'll be at the top one day (maybe soon) and will be considered an all time great. I can't see anyone stopping him on clay anytime soon and now he seems to have mastered all the other surfaces as well. The only thing stopping him will be his knees and injuries. He's had a history of injuries- he'll need to carefully monitor his schedule and not get carried away. What a match though!

What's with all the Rafa hatred?

Fed is probably the best ever, yet he has lost to Nadal in 4 slam finals. Based on that, you have to give Rafa some respect.

In my eyes, Rafa will only get better once he manages to make more of a weapon out of his serve. With all that muscle and power, he only managed 6 aces against Fed's 26.

Too early to call him the king of tennis. Fed has a good few years before he'll start to slow down, if he finds his best tennis he'll hold number one for that time.

But I want a gun Australian to rise. :(

Come back to me when he wins it 5 years in a row :)

Fed > Nadal

completely missed the point, no one is claiming rafa > fed, but your ridiculous point about rafa being a pretender kinda makes you look stupid now isnt it? he is only guy in the world who can own federer. But again, i guess tennis is not really your cup of tea, judging by your comments. Comeback when fed beats nadal on a clay grandslam :)

IMO the top 10 is something like this

Federer
Djokovic
Roddick
Gonzalez
Davydenko
Nadal
Gasquet
Nalbandian
Ferrer
Robredo/Baghdatis

are you a comedian of some kind??? You should have put robredo, ferrer, gasquest ahead of him as well.

what people dont understand is nadals tactics forces fed into errors, he is FORCED to go for more because he cant keep rallying with rafa, rafa will grind it out.

yes yes i know, whenever nadal wins its because federer was either sick or playing shit..it has been like that for the past 5 years and will be like that for the next 5 years  as crowsfan2004 explained perfectly, time for you to learn the game.Last year federer in the press conference said, RAFA dominated from the baseline and his serve saved his ass, this year again rafa dominated from the baseline and roger although served 30 odd aces, the serve couldnt bail him out.His forehand was on, he had like 40 winners off the forehand side..but dont let the facts get in your way.If rafa didnt choke on 5-2 while serving for the match, the game coulda been over in 4 sets.Get over it, rafa owns federer, its 12-6 now and now he has owned federer on his favourite surface, comeback when federer wins more than 4 games against rafa on a clay slam final.
