Injury Naitanui's knee

The only thing that makes me think he might be alright is most ACL's the players go off on the stretcher and then into the rooms.
Nic limped off then a little ice then a compression bandage.

Yeah the follow up wasn't standard ACL protocol, although perhaps just taking precaution not knowing the extent.

I think it's MCL, as they applied ice to the affected area.

I don't think he really pivoted enough to tear the acl, but that's not really saying much I guess. There didn't seem to be the right amount of give in it either when the physio was hobbling it while he was laying down.

Best case scenario, he landed awkwardly, aggravated some meniscus damage and has bad bruising

Worst case is obviously ACL

Even if it is his ACL he should be back in time for the end of NAB cup, there's a huge amount of summer recovery time from now until march next year

The positive part is we played flashy, clean, fast and quality footy tonight with a just a few black marks against a scant few players. Was good to see

EDIT: I'm thinking NAB is 8 months away, not six. FML too many beers, guess a few more can't hurt...

Nah I walked off with mine with no pain and even carried my 2y old daughter to bed that night from the car

Yeah, nah. People can play out games having a ruptured ACL if they want. Knee will buckle under lateral movement, but it's not too bad. If it's a GF I guarantee anyone would be able to keep playing.

Sorry to intrude but ACLs aren't a six month injury. Bob has only just started running this week and he did his 19 weeks ago.

Only if he gets LARS, which would be unlikely

I had a small meniscal tear last season and missed 3 games. You can also miss a full season with a torn meniscus. It's a strange injury for sure.

I dont suppose we can just stick him in the goal square like an old school full forward? Nic is still very big, very strong and can win one out and he wouldn't have to move much.

I know i am clutching at straws here, i am just thinking laterally :(

I noticed he was grabbing the outside of the knee and they were icing the same side. So maybe promising this is a PCL? I can't see him playing 2016 again but hoping he is good for 2017!!

Didn't Jackovich run off?

I've seen players walk off with an ACL injuries, I'm sure of it :(

The fact NN was limping gives me hope to be honest. Iv done MCL recently, the second i did it i had tremendous pain in my knee for about 2 mins and then nothing at all until hours later when my knee starting aching and went stiff, then it ached for weeks and was hard to walk on. From my understanding ACL's are very similar to this as well
