looked effortless to me and like he didn’t reach full stride either. The player trying to catch him seemed to be at full stride whoever it was

Perhaps you are right on the money....it would explain why he's been out so long. Changes to running posture take time.

I recall another player going through a similar process with some success, but be stuffed if I remember who it was.

How far off is Cocky from getting a run in the 1s. He got through last Sat ok right? Surely no worse than some of the passengers in the team lately, even off the bench in limited use. Probably needs more match fitness tho? We need a spark. Last game was a defensive, slow snorefest. Its almost time to insert the ****!

You'd have to think he would still be a few weeks away. They will be very conservative and build his match fitness first.

Lol. Talk about incompetent organisation. If they had brains they would always organise a scratch match on the friday arvo or saturday to give an extra day or two off for games next week to make sure the players are fresh.

I thought the sunday fixture was strange too. Maybe Hawthorn wanted Sunday and we just agreed to get a game fixtured.

Confirmed there was no scratch match this past weekend - seems it had been organised for Saturday, prior to our match against the Suns:

Geelong was unable to get a scratch match in on Saturday as Victorian teams hurried to fly out of the state amid fears there would be further lockdowns on suburban hot spots, meaning non-selected players endured an extended training run instead.

Needs a couple more full scratch matches and he’ll be in. Only played one full 4 quarter scratch match/game simulation so needs some more match fitness.

They may have had bit of an intraclub match/hitout - that's what the Pies did with something like 9 vs 9, but not sure what they would have got out of said hitout other than being a run in the legs for those not playing seniors

Hopefully once our quarantine is over the WA government will permit a scratch match & the guys won't just be hold up in the hotel if they aren't at training, taking a walk or the match against Freo
