Adelaide - Tyson Stengle, delisted 2021

Essendon - Pat Voss, delisted 2023

Some other left field ones:
Melbourne - ANB would be very handy in this born again Melbourne side

Tigers would be way more competitive if they had a fit Soldo playing a VFL career backing up Nankervis. Chasing the number 1 spot at Port ended up hurting Port, Richmond & Soldo himself in different ways.

Brisbane don’t want for anything major but Ah Chee was (is) still a fantastic forward flanker.
Stengle was delisted more than five years ago, so he doesn't quite fit the remit.

Jordan Clark for us, can see why he went at the time though was competing against Stewart, Duncan, Smith and Tuoy.

Essendon- Massimo as well?

Carlton- Jack Martin

Pat Voss was an absolute bonafide dickhead we delisted, his career trajectory doesn’t change without that and our young KPF stocks are fine.

The one that surprisingly really hurts right is Jayden Laverde. Ridley is always injured, McKay is battling for form and Reid is still in his first 50 games and finding his feet. Laverde is exactly what we need right now.

Massimo got us Archie Roberts so if you have to unwind that absolute hard pass. If it’s just bringing them back sure, but Brad Scott is an idiot and is obsessed with holding guys like Massimo, Tsatas and El-Hawli to defensive accountability whilst letting senior players like Parish and Langford get away with being lazy ****s.

Toby Bedford.

Don’t see how Voss with his 1 goal a game in a much better team changes our team. Whose spot does he take. Not Caddy or Wright.
Archer May (?) who has kicked more goals in less games

Ben Long

Was played as a small forward at St Kilda, wanted to play half back and got traded to the Gold Coast, then went back to being small forward and become pretty good.

Josh Dunkley obviously 😭 but we didn’t want him to leave in the first place

Pretty clear in hindsight that Gunston was not really trying that hard when he played for Brisbane. He just didn't care.

Jog my memory, what was the reason for Gunston doing a one year cameo at Brissie ?.

I was disappointed when we let Ned Long go at the time. Probably for the best, Hustwaite is now in the same predicament although playing this week.

Yeah I didn’t take it as “was it the right call at the time” - just in hindsight does it hurt? Soldo, Stengle, Voss were all fair & reasonable decisions at the time by their original clubs and in Soldo’s case the player himself. But none of them worked out in favour of the original clubs.

Kyle Langford fairly obviously I’d have thought.

Voss can play alongside Treacy, Amiss & Jackson/Cox - I think he’d manage with Caddy, May, Bryan/Wright.

Tom Barrass...BUT he was average in his last 2 years at West Coast, when we were already crap, with one foot out the door (Sydney one year, Hawthorn the next).
So a committed Tom Barrass, sure.

Oscar Allen, Liam Ryan...ehhh we had them and we sucked, so no great loss ultimately.

Can't think of anyone else that would really move the needle.

JHF probably the obviously one, but given our current midfield of LDU, Sheez, Wardlaw, Colby, FOS, etc, I wouldn't be pushing out any of those for JHF who is 1) inconsistent, and 2) a peaheart who didn't want to be there anyway

McKay hasn't been missed. Ess clearly don't rate him either given they're paying him 1M/yr to play in the VFL.
That's actually why JHF left.
He was worried he'd be stuck playing VFL behind all Norths all star talent.
