Goodes has largely avoided the media since his retirement, including no proper retirement send-off, no Brownlow attendence and no lap of honour as far as I can remember.
Why do idiots still go on with this "he's an attention seeker" crap?
Though I don't agree with the initial post, surely the fact that Goodes is an "attention seeker" cannot be disputed. He is and has been for a long time. I personally don't have a problem with his "attention seeking." He has used his platform to raise awareness for issues that are important to him. I don't see "attention seeker" as a derogatory remark, Goodes should be proud of a lot of his attention seeking.
He snubbed the brownlow. He did have a lap of honour, but refused to have it at the first opportunity because it was against the Pies, he had his lap of honour at another home game instead. Both things of course received significant media attention. He also participated in interviews and stories about a potential political career.
Goodes is, and always has been, an attention seeker. And with the exception of the pointing out the 10-year old girl and the "war dance", he should be admired for his seeking of attention.
