I should have remembered that as I was there. The Truck goal happened right in front of me and I remember the expressions on Truck's and Eddie's faces as the handball was called for and received.

- Smith on the HBF as has been well publicised
- Grigg probably also just makes the cut for me too and would be on the bench.
- Unsure if we can play Thompson, Junior and CEY in the same midfield with limited rotations still. Both Thompson and Junior have very little impact in other areas of the ground, and we know Pyke has been big on versatility so far this PS. As Ive mentioned before, CEY really needs to add some sort of forward game, so he can be a threat while resting down there. I really want to throw CEY in there but just can't find room atm. I have Grigg ahead of him at this stage, and until Thommo moves on or there are injuries, can't seem to squeeze CEY in there.

Still a fair amount of depth with players in the wings from 23-30 which is nice.

Looks like a team, Kane. My only possible change would be Kelly for Seedsman. I think the Bull may surprise this year. Gut feeling based on last season. No other evidence.

I would almost agree with that line up, One change if forced could be Hampton, for Kelly/Grigg, Kelly give's them another option in allowing Smith a run in the mid if Hampton not fit, or Grigg for Laird to mix it up

This is an interesting exercise however I am happy to have a bet with anyone that our selectors do not regard this as our best 22.

Ignoring the "unlikely" event that DMac and vB are selected in round 1, there is so much love for three players who played 41 games between them in three of the bottom teams last year. Based on the collective wisdom of BigFooty, Hendo is ranked behind these and other players despite being in our best 22 whenever he was fit and Lyons (who was in our best 22 on 13 occasions last year) is given little or no chance of getting a game. Also little love for Atkins based on a poor half of footy against the Bulldogs? At this stage, subject to full fitness, only Wigg, Dear, Doedee, Lowden and McGovern are seemingly no chance of lining up in round one and I would not bet my house on that.

The only question at this stage is whether we have fantastic depth (we seem to have fantastic depth every January) or whether we have a large group of players who are not quite good enough for the AFL.
