Just as we discussed the state of Footy in Tassie they release a report asking for 2 practice, 2 ansett and 2 H&A games. and that four existing AFL clubs are interested. It seems like a good idea so long as the AFL took a long-term view on it.

I think two of the teams would be Melbourne and Hawthorn (they have said so) but can anyone name the other two ? Is it the usual suspects ?

Collingwood, Bulldogs and Kangaroos have an 'open mind' on these things

As far as Hawthorn are concerned, I would object (given recent history) to home games being played elsewhere but I'm reasonaby comfortable with tasmania.

If we are to expand the competition I think all clubs should 'share' the load evenly

I guess the 4 would be North, StKilda, Bulldogs and probably Collingwood.

It wouldn't be a bad move for Geelong either if the Colonial Stadium winfall isn't as high as people think.

However, I'd hate to play any home games interstate. It's bad enough that we play 4 in Melbourne as it is.

When it comes to Tassie, it is important that full strength teams play there, Tassie has a knowledgable market, I think someone like Geelong need to play a St.Kilda at full strength at North Hobart in a Home and Away match. Ansett Cup etc is seen as second rate by the public and that will always be the problem.
