Interestingly, there have been 39 Eddie's play at the top level and Eddie Betts is the only one whose actual given name is Eddie (rather than Edward). There's even been another Eddie Ford (that played for Richmond) which is I suppose why the poster you quoted had 2 of them.

Yep.

That Eddie Ford supposedly was injured after an in-game collision in country footy game. He went home, got sick and was taken to hospital where he died.

Chose Fletcher marginally over Martin as his peak was much longer, with high level production for 23 seasons, comprising multiple eras and multiple positions. As there are only 2 Dustin's in V/AFL history, this unfortunately makes Martin the worst Dustin of all time.
