There is a series on Netflix called EL Chapo (I think made in Mexico 2018) that chronicles his rise to Cartel super boss. Worth a look.
Started off strong and it did well to tie other parts of the last 5 shows but i felt the ending was rushed with the decent time jump into the 2000's.
Also did not like that side story with the mexican cop as it felt like it was a random stroy from another show that was not needed at all.

Agree, cop story was boring as hell.
I skipped past it as it was always going to be predictable.
