ambrose played it smart imo, he threw away alot of top 15 an 10's last year for being mid pack with 10 or so laps to go an with the crash the night before it was on the cards, an did he get caught up with that first turn crash on the last lap anyway?
by the looks of it this year this appears no driver is parking it after 5 laps to collect the money so if you crash first laps your going to be 40th an wrost,means points mean more this year

Only start and parker I think was Nemechek......As for this week there are 44 of them going around and basically the 44 car has to be one of the fastest 36 in qualifying to make the race. There are only 39 entered for the Nationwide so Mr Shepherd is guaranteed a start.

There's now only 43 cars - Michael McDowells car has been withdrawn

Michael Annett,who drives for Richard Petty Motorsport in the Nationwide series,is out for awhile as he suffered a fractured and discolated sternum in the multi-car crash with about 5 laps to go.Aric Almirola will replace him this week.The team is yet to announce if they get a replacement or maybe just run Almirola & Ambrose in the car.

Also out of the Nationwide series is Jeremy Clements,driver of car #51.He's been suspended by Nascar for making a racist comment about another driver to a newspaper reporter.Nobody knows what he said or who about but my guess is Juan Carlos Blum.Him & Clements both had trouble on the same lap.

I did read this morning that a Nascar official was escorting someone from MTV [WTF ???] to see Johanna Long and they asked Clements if he knew where her hauler was parked.He did and took them too it and while waiting said something to the 2 people.

I was taking the dog for a walk this morning about half hour before the race started while thinking about the race when i remembered after crashing last week Cousin Carl said "we'll go down to Phoenix and win next weekend" so i quickly opened up my sportsbet app and put $10 on him just off a hunch........... what do ya know i'm now $210 better off.

Really hope Ambrose runs well at Vegas, was surprised to see him 12th in points.

ambrose learnt alot last year imo,he threw away alot of top tens my guess 6 or 7 from being in the wrong spot or pushing it to the limit to much,this more layed back way of racing is great its alot better to get 15th then 37th which is a big chance this year with the slower cars finsihing the races alot more so throwing away points hurts alot more this year more then ever...

funny how in the afl you get a 5 grand fine for having a go at a ump after the game an in nascar hamlin got 25 grand for saying this years car is not as nice as last years model? haha yanks
