It was not careless it was deliberate.

We need to ask ourselves if we want to be seeing this stuff every week.

Yes Barry Hall was worse, to be honest that should be seven or eight weeks
We do see this stuff every week, happened multiple times tonight normally when a player tried to get the arm across the chest it land their.

If it's deliberate than every bit of contact would be. Regardless.

Ofc Barry's king hit was worse, but that's an example of a deliberate strike to the head, not a careless strike to the head.

Also if they grade it incorrectly it gives Hawthorns lawyers something to argue against, they should just grade it correctly and send it to tribunal if the weeks on the grade are too low.

Another test of how biased the MRO and tribunal is, and I expect another fail. The MRO already failed and showed his bias with the 2 week Houston ban earlier this season after sending him on a 5 week holiday the season prior for a bump that whilst was not to the head, did cause a referred concussion.

Nash should get 5, but he won’t as the league is illegitimate and corrupt.

Yeah sure, ask yourself, do we think Nash was trying to hit Miers in the head. If yes then that's intentional if no then is careless. Anywho...

The saddest thing will be listening to the media talk up a stupid send off rule all week. Another highly subjective decision umpires will bungle when they already decide the result in almost every close game this year.
How about instead of a send off rule the ban regardless of length can be (part) served when the teams next play each other. If a player moves clubs then the ban just kicks in straight away if any carry over to the new club.

Will get weeks but I don't think there was any genuine malice in it.

The Geelong players would have remonstrated a lot more if there was and Nash seemed genuinely apologetic to Miers as he was helped off the ground.

I can't recall Nash ever being reported. Seems to be a pretty gentle bloke when he isn't smashing people in a tackle.

Yes but he has to pay the price for the round house hit
Miers won't play next few weeks as a result of the good guy gentle nature

I said he will get weeks and rightfully so.

Just surprised to see it from Nash is all.

Will get weeks for sure, can't be hitting people in the head like that regardless of intent.

I don’t quite see it that way

5 weeks would mean it’s purely outcome based when the AFL like to claim they don’t operate that way

If we are punishing actions he should cop the same as Voss last week for his hit on Vlastuin (3 weeks) that is virtually the same action

Nash was reported at the time of the incident, if there were send off rules in place and had of sent him off it would have been the correct call. Should we not be making the correct call in fear of occasionally getting it wrong?

Probbly because the players were too busy trying to get the medics to Miers and signalled for help

About the same for Impey should get for staging, 0 weeks and a fine. Sicily should also get a fine for staging in the last.
Dropping your knee like that should be 1 week at least

Impey got smacked in the face with force with the footy. You can tell immediately from his reaction that wasn't staging

Didn't see the Sicily one but not sure you could prove it on his performance today. Everything he tried to do failed

Atkins was just being a good teammate and trying to stop Newcombe from gouging Guthries eyes out

Surely a moderator on this forum should know it’s an outcome based system, as that helps with the impact grading. I agree with you that what should be more important is the action, which is why Houston was very stiff to get a 5 week suspension for a perfectly executed bump.

Sicily should be fined for impersonating a captain
