BEING a Central Districts supporter in the SANFL been hoping for years we'd get an ex-Bulldog player at Tigerland and seems we have ourselves a good one, albeit unlikely. Was really surprising to see him drafted after playing only one senior SANFL game, but kudos to someone down at the club for seeing something in him.
Also goes some ways to erasing the memory of the last Centrals player top grace Punt Road .... an embarrassment!!!

whatever way you look at it, he'll still benefit adding some bulk to his frame, will then be much better placed in the contest against bigger opponents, he'll do that , no probs now he is in the afl system, he's great material to work with...withm him and webberley our amongst our last couple of draft selections, FJ and his team have done exceptionally well...

Watched him and a couple of others closely while at the game yesterday.

The one thing i'm loving about this kid atm is his running ability and being able to burn his opponent on a 100 metre run.

In the third quarter when he ran on to matt white's kick in to the forward line and kicked the goal from the goal square i was watching him the whole way leading up to that and it was amazing.

When we forced the turnover at half back nason's opponent was standing right next to him on the wing. Nason sees that we have the ball and just bolts in to the forward line leaving his opponent who when they started was 1 metre away ended up being no where near him when he kicks the goal in the square.

Add to that the fact that he apparently ran 20km in the hawthorn game. For a first year player, its very impressive!

Ouch!

Re. Nason, another example of a guy who knows his way around a football field... does not need to be bought into the play because he gets to the right spots.

I'm not sure of where he actually was playing most of Sunday's game but was seen around half back at times but in the next minute running his arse off into our forward 50 creating an option.

It's just fun watching him play! :thumbsu:

Reid has been good but I think this award is a joke if 2nd, 3rd and 4th year players get gigs.

Should be like the NBA best 1st year rookie!

How is 22 possessions and consistency for the year better than consistancy and 3 goals and 16 touches on the weekend? geez this award shits me...Took forever for Dusty to get it and Nason deserves one as well...

Reid gets rising star nomination for shutting down Jack Watts. He does not score a vote in the AFLCA Champion Player of the Year award cast by both coaches after the game. Ben Nason is awarded 4 (Riewoldt 10, Deledio 7, McGuane 3, Martin and Tuck 2 each, King and Cox 1 each). Nason 16 disposals, 3 tackles and 3 goals. Reid 22 disposals, 1 tackle and 0 goals. The weekly nomination for the rising star award is based on something other than the best game amongst the eligible players.
