At the moment I wouldn't put Nathan even close to Fev but if he turns out to be as good I'm sure every Geelong supporter will not hesitate to say that Nathan is a champion.
Remember this thread is about Nathan Ablett and how some of the Geelong "supporters" decided to call him a dud before he had any adequate chance to prove otherwise.
And how now with his chance he is doing everything in his power to do just that.

Incorrect.. no one called him a dud. If you can find that in the posts, go for it.
He had a very average pre-season and has played 2 good games... Its a long, long season.![]()
Just 8/10...and who exactly will be beating us in those other 2?
Yes!! I'm glad it's bookmarked, feel free to tell me I'm right in the future when he doesn't become an 'exceptional' player.
I don't consider myself critical, realistic yes. Stop comparing him with Playfair too. Anyone matches up well against that butter cake. Nathan is 22 this year and needs to show something to even be in our best 22. 3 NAB games, 1 goal 2 behinds... not good enough.

- no not yet. A couple of good seasons doesn't make him a Champion player. Probably will be by the end of his career.
You blokes have Melbourne, Hawthorn, Kangaroos and Richmond for your next 4 games, and those arent exactly the greatest midfields currently going around. He will get a quite a few goals over the next month im predicting.
Regardless of how many goals he will get by seasons end, id say at his age he has effectively stamped Kent Kingsley out of the side. Geelong could be 5 wins from 6 games this year.
Exactly. For example, in the entire time I've followed Geelong (over 20 years) I believe I've seen only 3 truly great players:
Gary Ablett (senior obviously)
Garry Hocking
Matthew Scarlett
The reason is they maintained top form for year after year. There are plenty of good players who have 1 or 2 great seasons. Sustaining it for 5-10 years is a different story.

It didn't take long ,did it !!! your wrong !!
And before you start on about it was only Carlton and only Whitnell lets remember it was only his 13 game.![]()
No I'm right you idiot. 2 good games does not make anyone an exceptional player.

We at least attempt to have an opinion about the boy, where as you are unwilling to acknowledge his talent until he has proved himself over an extended period !
You are entitled to your opinion (no matter how negative they always seem to be ) as am I.
