Nathan Batsanis

I've heard some whispers over at TC that we may be keen on this guy. Anyone on here heard anything similar?

To refresh peoples memories he is a 179cm midfielder with good pace and a fantastic, penetrating kick. He probably should have been best on ground in last years TAC grand final with 38 possessions and 3 goals. Ended up averaging 32 possessions, 10 inside 50's, 15 handball receives, 1.5 goals and 6 hardball gets a game for the finals series.

He was then rookie listed by Port and started off really well with 4 goals on debut before struggling with injury and being delisted (maybe he declined a 2nd year so as to return home?) which came as a surprise to a lot of Port fans.

I for one would be pretty happy to give him a go as he really impressed me last year and I was disappointed when we didn't at least rookie him. He may well prosper in Victoria and could be another Daniel Pierce.

What are others thoughts on this guy?

i was all for rookie listing him too, and was annoyed when port did. as u said he absolutely dominated in the finals series and after watching the gf i was surprised he slipped to the rookie placings. i suppose he's not that tall but he certaintly is a ball magnet. there are worse people we could have on our rookie list so i wouldnt mind him there

He's a bit of a selfish player who holds onto the ball for too long, and was exposed in the SANFL.

I don't think he'll be able to get a game ahead of Bentick, let alone in our Midfield with Judd, Hadley, Stevo, Murph etc

But I suppose he'd be worth a rookie spot ... after all .. us Greeks are warriors ... plus he could sponsor our club with Batsanis shoes lol

I cant say I actually recall seeing him play but from your reports he does sound like he would have something to offer and if nothing else, atleast push the Bentick, Russell, Blackwell type players for their spot.

nah it definately wasnt him. the guy that i saw had more australian features was much taller than 179 and had a sexy missus and 2 eyebrows not 1. lol Definately wasnt a greek.

The thing that really put me off the carlton recruiters forever was when we selected superstar Rossy Young before Batsanis was even taken
