I would suggest that if he has actually hurt his girlfriend, then the club will suspend him, it would be ugly if they did not.

If he's just thrown a drink at her or broken her handbag or something, then I think he'll be single, and the target of Bay 13 for the next 5 years.

We'll know in a couple of days.

I want to know what exactly he's supposed to have done wrong in the past.

How dare footballers have fun like normal people.

You'd assume that the paycheck would be more than enough compensation for having to obey the "go home early and don't get on the sauce" rule.

stop being so precious, he's out late at night drunk and got into an altercation deemed serious enough the police didn't want to leave it there.

it may turn out to be nothing, upon proper investigation - but at least we can acknowledge this is not an ideal situation.

Geez, thank god for this. It took 5 pages of excuses and blaming the rest of the world for any possible problems before someone dared to state the truth.

Personally I'm bitterly disappointed with Bock. He is charged with assault and property damage in a hotel at 2 am. Without knowing the cricumstances, police do not generally lay serious charges like these without substance.

How far off being truly professional are these AFL and NRL footballers?? They get paid hundreds of thousands of dollars to represent their club, yet they still bring embarrassment to themselves and their club with anti-social drunken behaviour.

Pathetic and far from being professional. :thumbsd:

Spot on macca :thumbsu:

Just the fact that the police thought it was worth the time & effort to charge him is serious enough, this crap makes me feel worse that i did on friday night.

After the Welsh incident the other year I am going to wait. He deserves due process and the presumption of innocence.

Agreed ... I am disappointed too

Regardless of the extent of the "damage" to property or person for such an important player to be out late and causing enough of a ruckus to get the police involved = :thumbsd:

I assume he will now be out suspended by the club for a couple of weeks?

Great

Yeah, no doubt, bad situation.

I dont think its unreasonable to point out that the scope of the charges laid against him are broad and could mean any number of things varying from very serious, to not quite as bad.

Whilstwe are all disappointed that he got himself in this situation, it remains a fact that he is simply charged with something and has not been proven guilty.

therefore I would expect the club to back him 100%, I can not see why this would not be the appropriate response. After all last time I check in this country we are innocent until proven guilty, regardless of what the media try's to impose.

I think we need to wait and see what Bocky has to say. It might be he admits he was drunk and made a mistake. We know nothing at the moment, its all bigfooty guesswork. I hope the club deals with this openly and transparently and doesn't do a "in-house investigation" that is a sham.

It doesn't matter even if he is eventually found innocent and has no case to answer, he will get a drive by verdict form the media and the majority of the public. This will be worse than his punishment if found guilty.

If Johncock was suspended by the sanctimonious leadership group than Bock should get life.

If he is found to be guilty of assault the AFC and AFL should suspend him for 6 months. If it was a woman he hit, then he should be delisted. Alternatively, we could just do a Port and give him the minimum fine.

that is the No.1 problem with trial by media.

Not neccessarily true Mac. You dont have to do anything over the top to get charged with assault. Someone just needs to say he assualted me and your charged, you then have to prove your innocense. Trust me, it happened to a mate of mine who wasn't even in the vicinity of where the incident happened.

Not that it necessarily relates to off the field stuff, but he is the most undisciplined Crow on the field now that Scott Thompson has cleaned up his act.

And how much we would then need to give her?

The AFC must be tough with Bock. If not dealt with in the strongest possible way this sort of off field ill discipline can spread through a club like cancer.

Especially with a relatively young list.

The only way these morons learn is to hit them in the hip pocket.

And not letting them play. When you take away the only thing most of them are good at it really cuts them.

I realise it took them forever to do it and it should have happened a lot earlier and more often but the stand Collingwood took on Didak and Shaw last year was exactly what was needed.

Ill wait until the club makes a statement on the matter before I would judge what has and should happen.

Until then mum's the word.

Harsh as some off this may be, I agree with this.

If guilty of assaulting his girlfriend he should be delisted. There is no place in our society for men who beat up on women.

I stress, if guilty.

If you were in a public place and you were a high profile person, surely the last thing you would do is assault a woman. For this reason it hopefully is at the lower end of the scale, not that any level of abuse is okay. If it is a serious assault then he has major issues, because a) to do it in the first place and b) to do it in public
