Since Fevola kicked 8 against the Pies... Franklin will kick 12! :thumbsu:

Fev should have kicked 10 that day. The Pies defense is woeful. They tried Brown on Fev late in the game, but Brown's poor agility and lack of speed off the mark was pretty embarrassing, and resulted in Fev turning the guy inside out, and kicking the match winning goal. Could be a big day out for Franklin. :)

although franklin is tall, its not his height that is his weapon. at ground level he is as good as any small forward, even better. this is why i fear nathan brown may struggle against him. great in the air, but once the ball hits the deck he may be too slow

Have you watched any Hawthorn games this year? If so you would have seen him using his height to stand behind his opponent and just reach over the top of him. He has already probably taken more shoulder to shoulder marks this year than he did all of last year.

Franklin sure dominated him.

I thought Brown did extremely well in the first half. Kept him to only a couple of shots (from memory they were on the run too), and forced Franklin to push into the midfield. But then in the second half our midfield really looked like shit, the Hawks just continually pumped it inside 50 without pressure, Brown's tank was empty (he needs to work on that), and Franklin just dominated. The problem with Franklin is, he can do all the damage in one quarter... so you need to play 4 full quarters on him. Still, I'm happy with Browny's performance. He proved he is up to it. It's our midfield that isn't.

was happy with browns efforts. was beaten but anyone would have been with that flood of supply. did well in the first half.

Franklin played on the wing 80 % of the first half.
Then after half time went to the forward line.

Why on earth will Brown go to Franklin? As if. Harry O'Brien is the better match up.

Franklin is primarily a leading forward who kicks goals from roving as well. Brown is a guy with good closing spped and one on one strength.

Franklin would kill Brown with his agility. O'Brien has the agility and speed. His strength isn't as good as Franklin's but Franklin generally doesn't use it as much as his agiltiy and pace.

Brown is a better match up for Roughead. I don't know why people think he should be on Franklin.
Because Brown is your teams full back.....

Nice red card smiddaz

Anyway Brown is only new. He did ok but will do better in the years to come.

he was in the forward line most of the first quarter. i suspect he instructed to move up the ground more to get himself into the game and to try and wear brown out.

The Brown beat-up posts on BF before Round 4 was embarrassing. Fevola made Brown look pretty average in about 1 and a half minutes of the Carlton v Collingwood game. Buddy bent him over the barrell again this week. Brown = average footballer.

Oh my...

You mean where the ball went to ground, Brown slipped over (stupid) and Fev kicked a very good goal? Brown was on Fevola when he had already kicked 6... for a couple of minutes... big deal.

As for Buddy... he was kept quiet for a half... but then spanked Brown in the second half, just like he does to every other backman in the league. Brown = one of, if not.. the best YOUNG key defender in the league.

one_twelve = average poster.
