That's the question i have been asking? Is he injured if so,what's the story?
With Clement out,and wakelin a bit dodgy, you would think he would get a run in the senoirs since we are on the debutante bandwagon.
Anyone got any news?
I really really hope,we picked the right brown. His brother Mitch will be a very good player one day,I hope the same for Nathan, although,he has had a very quite start to the year.

absolutely right - needs every minute he can get becuase he is a mile off senior standard.

simply can't be affording to miss games now - we need to pump footy into him because he looks like one of those big kids who coasted through junior footy without any real substance to his game.

not sure what the wizard (Mr Wisbey) thinks about him can someone post his summary here.

How do you know that?

Saw him play in the nab cup match. He had good poise and strong body, but he caouldn't kick, and kept turning the ball over.Even kicking to the opposition. So, i put it down to the kid was probably nervous, in his first game, quite understandable.I was just curios how come he didn't play on sat against Port.Has he got an injury?
Especailly with wakes and clemenmt in trouble at the moment,if he (Brown) was in form he would probably get a game in the seniors especially because many thought that becuse of his body size he would play senior footy pretty soon, especially since his brother has shown great glimpses with Wet Toast.

I don't think it's a fact he can't kick, he just rushed the ball and made bad decisions. Probably a lot of it due to nerves. That will improve.

Who gives a stuff, that guy thought Billy Morrison was the next Wayne Carey...

So unless Billy has a penchant for his best friends wives I don't think we can glean too much from the "Wiz"

Did anyone here actually see Nathan Brown play underage footy?

Because you'd realise that your fears are baseless if you had.

Nathan can kick the ball well. Mitch is not "the good Brown". He is just learning the game at full back, the most cerebral position on the ground.

They say that centre half forward is the hardest position on the ground to play, but I think that full back is the hardest position to play WELL.

Any reason because of that, or you like to find a negative in most things you say.

Oh for god sake lonely from 50 - I am expressing an opinion.

Now as a young-un you may not be aware of the clear precedents where big juniors have not made the grade. Do you remember Terry Keays??? Allan Macalister himself (who I hear you say) personally told me how he was going to be a dominant chf for us.

Re Brown I have now seen him play twice - the second time for Willy he played CHB - he was bloody terrible.

My opinion is that he is not overly talented but at underage his physical strength and straight line speed helped him get through.

He has poor decision making, very mediocre kicking skills and poor agility.

He needs to improve quick smart. As pick 10 in a superdraft I expected a lot more in terms of skills and footy smarts. Whist he was the type of player I wanted (whereas Vinnie wanted to draft queenslanders) I think we have chosen the wrong player.

Do not think he is a morrison but he is miles off it at this stage.

Not bagging him lonely from 50 but simply giving a reasoned opinion rather than the sort of pop star appraisals you generally come up with.

Hope you had a great holiday and look forward to your next one - how about 6 months in Europe for you - starting next week???

You really are clueless!

The kid is 18 & is a key position player!

They actually take a couple of years before they get used to playing on men, instead of boys!

He is a class act & we dont need him in the seniors with presti, clement, wakes, maxwell, cox & obrien around.

Let the kid develop FFS!

How come he did not play for Williamstown?
when you play a club not aligned with an afl club such as port melbourne you are allowed a maximum 10 players who are on the afl list in that game.he might have got squeezed out

FFS - DID YOU READ THE POST?? I have analysed where he is at now - he has the body of a man. That was my point - his skills are dreadful. It is a concern and I have discussed this with a number of experts plus a bloke who played against him for Vic last year - it seems a common view.

On what basis do you assert he is a class act? Where is your evidence??

Was he eligable to play in the Willy 2's

Also please do not attack the poster as I understand jabber will send you numerous warnings

Jabber going to sen dme a warning!!! LOL LOL I couldnt give a stuff, what is he my dad??? Moron

anyway its been two weeks, give the kid a chance to grow some pubic hair before you pass judgement on him!!

I thought his first half in the nab cup was quite impresive . Knew when to mark and when to punch. Lead well attacked the ball and got a bit of it. His kicking was no good but he wouldn't be the first young bloke to butcher a few early. From what I saw on his highlights video he looks like a good kick with a nice technique. There is nothing I saw in that game to give me any great concerns.

As for whoever made the comment about someone who played against him in the 18s and thought he was not much chop I would be paying no attention to that. The amound of kids who come out of the 18s(generally the ones who dont get drafted) and bag players who do get drafted is laughable.

Very early days. I am not saying he will be any good because I have not seen enough of him. But I have no great concerns

Mitch Brown has been slotted into a team that's playing VERY well. 'nuf said?

Yep, you could have put Billy Morrison into their team and impress.

Hang on that's a bit over the top.

Any half decent player. See: Steven Armstrong.

Give the kid a break. He's 18 and a KPP. They all take time, even the great ones.

I have seen him a few times , once in the NAB and a couple of Willi games.
I hope his week off this week was because he has been carrying something..
I have yet to see him execute a decent footpass and he has been doing nothing of note in the games he has played .
Goldsack playing as a key back last week showed more than he has so far.
Hopefully it is just a question of him adapting and lacking confidence at the moment.

Brown missed due to soreness in his quad and it was a matter of not risking the kid. Will probably be bak this week. Brown will be a good one, if anyone saw his highlights on CTV just after the draft you would agree with me.
