To be fair, though, Carlisle started off the season in poor form and has only started to turn things around in the last 3-4 weeks, and Keefe had a shocker last week; he wasn't that illogical an out. (I am a bit biased, though, I thought he would be in the outs after last week.)

In hindsight, maybe we could have backed him in, but - in my case, at least - that's with the benefit of knowing how well Carlisle played.

You dont drop your CHB and bring in a flanker to play on a KPF of that size. If Witts has a bad game against Adelaide do we drop him and play no ruck against Port the following week? Idiotic non selection.

This Dane Swan situation is 100% on Buckley.

He was CLEARLY injured from as early as Round 1 and they persisted in playing him despite it. Most of us were saying back then SOMETHING had to be wrong with Swan and Bucks continued to deny it. Shit coaching Bucks.

Could have been getting games into Kyle Martin or Kennedy. Swan, outside ANZAC Day has been a liability and now we know why.

Yep. Exactly what was the point in Buckley playing an injured Swan anyway? Was he trying to intimidate the opposition or something? Clearly his plan did not work and it's only because of Gary Lyon that Swan is having a stint on the side lines.

Stupid really.

I don't suppose the medicos had anything to do with it?

Bucks has made some Shocking call this season.

Such as 1 seen sand put on Boards are:

  • Not Playing Keeffe when the Dons had a 2 Tall Forwards
  • Not Elvating and Playing Martin
  • Playing Adams down back which is the Worst Postion for him to play
  • Stop playing Cloke,White and Witts/Grundy as that worked the Best

Because coaches have NEVER gone against the advice of medicos?

Or, medicos haven't felt the pressure to "ok" certain players or drafting/trading decisions? Come on now.

Maybe so, but if the medicos had said "he needs surgery" or "he needs a month off", I'm fairly sure Bucks and the selection committee wouldn't have stuck their heads in the sand and played him anyway. Obviously it was a calculated decision, hoping he could play through it and give us some output. He did have a few decent games but it looks like it's got to the point where it's hampering him badly enough to warrant time off.

I don't agree that it's 100% on Buckley.

But who's to say Keeffe would have refound his form / acquitted himself any better, given how poorly he had fared against Dixon the week before?
In terms of Witts, the analogy is a bit of a stretch, not sure how those two situations would even be comparable. But fair enough.

To suggest that Buckley has overridden the advice of doctors is ridiculous. He's not James Hird.

Cant even understand his coaching in the wins we have had either. Richmond kicking seven last qtr goals.
Carlton kicking 8 last qtr goals first time around.
Only kicking eight goals against Melbourne.
struggling to stay in the game against West coast.
So even some of our wins have been unbearable to watch.
That's got to say something about the coaching staff.
That's a huge drop off from 2010/2011 till now.
Even winning is not enjoyable to watch.
