I have been told that Nathan was on the channel 10 news in Melbourne and during the interview said that he would be retiring at the end of next season.

I didn't see this report, did anyone see it and is he bowing out after next season?

I watched Ten news, and there was no mention of this, I am watching Ten Late news and there has still been no info on this. Wherever you heard this, seems to have been incorrect.

A mate of mine played golf with Nathan a couple of weeks ago in Bali and he told me Buckley said he hoped to play 2 more seasons but wasn't sure whether his ankle would hold up.

I try to watch Channel 10 sport at 5:40pm as often as I can, and I am certain that is a rumour.

It would be a big thing in Melbourne if it happened, and I haven't heard anything.

Answer is NO.

I played marbles with Bucks last weekend and he said if his right thumb didnt come good soon he wouldnt be able to use tom bowlers anymore and would probably give it away.

LOL, i like it. Bucks probaly will retire after next year or definatly the year after that. Im sure he didnt have an interview saying so but he is certainly coming to an end, especially if he roams the midfield a lot this season.

Bucks will play this year in the middle. It will be his last. Then he will either play out of the goalsquare, or off half back. Expect this to be Burnsy's last year and he will play mostly off HFF.

Buckley will play till 35-36...

Id expect him to be around at least till the end of 2006.

I heard from a mate, who is mates with one of Buckley's mates, that Buckley will retire from AFL football, and play for....Williamstown! Yes you heard it here first! Buckley wants to play in team he could get close to 100 touches a game.

He ruled out playing in Tasmania, NSW, QLD, WA, NT and SA because, he didn't feel like selling his house....

Burnsy almost quit collingwood and football 2 years ago to go back to adelaide except his wife wanted to stay. May have been just engaged at that time. When he retires they will move home to adelaide but with a young child just arrived that will be after 2006.

He didn't even want to use the pedal on the golf cart, so it aint too good.

Yeah he might not be (he is actually 30 at the end of this year) but the style of footy he plays, his body wont hold up for much longer.
IMO 1-2years max.

the style of footy he plays? well he hasnt had any serious injury, apart from his hamstring this season, so i dont see how his "style" would shorten his career

he's got at least 3 years left in him.
