Why did Freeman leave Collingwood? A huge part of his decision was that he was forced back too soon from an injury which resulted in him subsequently missing nearly another whole season. We are doing the exact opposite which is the right thing to do by both the player and our club.
We rate Nathan as a blue chip investment and we will do whatever it takes to make sure that he's given the best opportunity to produce when we need him the most.
The supporters in here complaining that he's not back to full training would also be the first to question the club if he reinjured himself because he was rushed back.
We are playing the long game, let's give the club and the kid time to get to the required physical conditioning. And as of right now Nathan's hamstrings are in healthy condition, let's let the club do their best to keep it that way.
I'm sorry but how is he a 'blue chip investment'? It's pretty clear he was a high risk, high reward investment.

Sounds like my share market investment strategy - no wonder I'm broke.

Perhaps we could call Freeman "Penny" as in penny dreadful stocks - the ones you buy for nix and hope they come good.

Sounds like our Luke Penny investment.

Rated very highly by recruiters and clubs around the league. A bum hamstring don't mean he isn't worth anything

Because he was and still is rated very, very highly by our recruitment and coaching staff. So do our players that played against him in junior footy.
A blue chip is a very safe, stable investment. Someone who's played 3 VFL games in 2 years because of numerous hamstring injuries isn't a safe stable bet. How highly he is rated is a completely different thing. I have no doubt we rate him highly, but there was always a huge risk trading him in.

OK he's not a piece of stock on a sharemarket.
You are correct, he's not a "blue chip investment." He has potential to be a blue chip player.

Risk: Next year's second round pick could be wasted: Like Brad Howard, or Nick Winmar, or Sam Crocker. We could miss out on a player the calibre of Jack Newnes, or it may only be a Nathan Wright or Brody Murdoch.
Maybe our drafting professionals are in a position to know what the relative strengths of next years draft are.

Upside: Freeman was taken from among a group that included :
Aish, McDonald, Sheed , Lennon, Cripps and Dunstan.
If he can get over his injury concerns he WILL be good enough for AFL footy.

I don't have enough information to judge the risk of his injury. I'm thinking that maybe someone at the club does.
It may well be that he has more chance to play than the guy who ends up getting picked by Collingwood with our second draft pick at the end of the year.

Freeman will play more games with us this year than the future 2nd round pick we gave up to get him will. Take that you impatient twats.

I apologize if my expression confused you.

Like BHP now.

Exactly why Collingwood were very unhappy to lose him.

I reckon BHP is more a Carlisle type of investment. Looked like you couldn't help banking the dividends but all of a sudden there looks like at least 12 months of nothing coming up.

Thank god I' be been out all day and didn't have to put up with this Freeman shit again:rolleyes:

How many friggen times does this need to be discussed?

The kid had torn hammy. Is being nursed along.

How frigging hard is that to friggen understand?
Then why bring it up again?

Does if that Hamstring stops him from training and playing, fingers crossed for the kid

Worst case scenario for Freeman is his Hamstring issues continue for a year or two and he is forced to retire. Having said that I still think the possible reward is well worth the above risk. Is there any inside information about how diligent the kid is in his rehab and overall approach ? Good Luck to him anyway

Nathan had OVER 13 months recovery from his original hamstring injury to his first VFL game, apparently that's rushing him back though...

He missed the 2015 season because his hamstring healed incorrectly (which had nothing to do with how quickly/slowly he came back). You are quite clearly making up lies to suit a theory.
