Pretty hard now to see him being on our list next year, but I just want to see him get the chance to play one AFL game as reward for the resilience he’s shown in the face of constant setbacks throughout his career. Especially when he’s doing stuff like funding his own way to Germany to work with world class specialists.

Come on Freezer!

This would surely have to be the last setback and pray for a miracle that he gets surgery and it gets fixed, I really hope he can have a successful career with us if not it's very very unlucky. I can't imagine the frustration he must feel but he's resilient and determined. Imagine him debuting it would be magical and us fans would roar. Oh dreams.

Was thinking exactly the same. We might not give him the career he wanted but I hope we can give him the experience of an afl game

If he heals and does enough in the 2nds but doesn’t debut then I think we may give him a rookie spot next year. If he doesn’t heal up, and/or his form in the VFL is sub-par then he’ll probably be delisted.

Can’t fault his temperament one bit. If anyone’s going to come back from this it’s him.

Is this another set back on top of his slight set back the other week?

I wouldn't be Loling at possible surgery. Or is that possibility exaggerated as well?
It was the same one. He didn't injure it on Friday like The Age reported because he didn't even play in the match sim to begin with.

It's a cleanup of scar tissue, as I said a few weeks back he did twang it slightly, it's probably going to sideline him for a couple of weeks. He would be ruled out for JLT 1 but possibility for JLT 2.

Am surprised by this thread! Was expecting a lot more melts.

New found maturity or is it because we haven’t had a loss in a while?!

Feel for the kid, hopefully it’s minor as being reported by the club and the Age article is just click bait for the Collingwood fans.

Why does there always seem to be a rush to be the first to write blokes off?

Sure none of this sounds great, however the kid is still on our list and the season is yet to start.

I for one will not retire Nath before the club does.

And I hope that not for many years to come.

That clearly means they are going to get a shotgun and put him down.

So what you're saying is... 2 weeks?

I love your optimism George and I would love more than anything to be proved wrong, but it certainly seems that his hamstrings will never stop playing up. We have to remember this is now his 5th year.

The first?

People have been writing him off since day one of the trade.

I was happy to let him rebuild year one

Wrapt he was getting constant games year two.

But year three we are back to twanging hammies rehab and possible surgery i.e back to year one.

If he hasn't played seniors by end of year we need to cut our losses.

Feel for the kid but run this by Markworth.

This year is his last shot at it IMO mate. If he doesn't get a handful of games in this season I'd say it's over for him unfortunately. Super talent but just can't get out there. Comes a time when the club needs to bite the bullet and do what they can to get him to play, they need to put him through the rigours of an AFL game and if he isn't up to it we let him go, as horrible as it sounds.
