Is it confidence or is it the fact he’s had a million surgeries on his hammy’s?! Maybe Freezer doesn’t have the quick burst like he used too?! I’m no physio or dr I have no idea the likelihood of him retaining that type of natural gift after what his legs have been through but are we waiting for something he potentially doesn’t have anymore?

I've been screaming for freezer to get a game and still am, but I'd rather he debut in front of a home crowd than some plastic franchise with no soul.

Rd 20 vs the dogs or i will seriously lose my crap

Agree. I'm a fan but IMHO they were 30 mostly beige possessions. Knows how to find the ball but doesn't really hurt the opposition. Not much length to his kicks either.
Laid some nice crunching tackles so his shoulder must be OK. Hopefully he is getting more and more confidence and he starts tucking the ball under his arm and breaking lines. Need to see him soon because I certainly need something to cheer about in what amounts to a car crash of a season

Just like Mitchell then :D

Chin up everyone. The good news is that clearly Newnes is "ready" and has been all year. So we can judge him on his performances this year without worrying about people on here saying "he's clearly injured".
Mav's ankles are clearly "ready" which means he's going to be able to launch goals from 40m like he used to.
That Irish bloke that I can't even remember the name of right now was obviously "ready".
Ross is "ready" to stand in as captain and lead our team to victory.
Geary is "ready" to take a captain's mark and kick a goal for us to get the game off to a decent start. Cough cough.

Oh but this guy is a forward and that guy is a defender and this guys an inside mid and....whatever. How much worse is Freeman going to do in the forward pocket or on a flank than those guys? He's a footballer unlike Wright, Geary, our ruckmen, the angry blonde ant with little arms and that hurling dude. He'll get a kick.

If he does his ankle or collarbone in the next week or 2 in the 2s, I'll puke in 20 years time when Richo gets a "Where are they now?" interview and says he always regretted not giving Nathan Freeman a chance when he was up and running after all those years of rehab. "We were on the bottom and I guess I could have given the kid a run, but I was puffing my chest out trying to prove we weren't a basket-case of a team to everyone who of course knew better".

Ready...turn it up.

Have you ever considered that The conversations between player and coaches would also be around the "are you ready?". You know the thought that are you confident in your body to now take the next step.
His body is right, his mind still has to get there. I'll back in the people who would know what is best.

It is starting to look like Freemo will never get a game under this coach.

Start of the year when he went in for surgery everyone called time. Now he is getting consistent game time and he hasn't been picked it's because Richo doesn't want to give him a game.

I have considered this. I've also considered that sometimes these aren't the conversations that are taking place.
I've also considered that Richo hasn't said "Freo tells me he's not ready yet", so there's a reasonable likelihood that the conversation hasn't happened in the real world yet.
Speaking of which, have you considered that you're the only one that's real and the rest of us are just figments of your imagination appearing to you in some kind of dream puzzle that you need to solve in order to wake up?
If it's true, then consider my vents about Nathan Freeman a vital clue that shouldn't be disregarded.
Consider it, consider...consider...consider.

Without seeing him play, based off of reports it sounds lile he's playing more of a Tom Mitchel/Luke Dunstan type of inside role.

So does he need his speed back, or does he need to be backing himself to kick it longer and be damaging with his disposal?

Cool story. Yep you convinced me. Let's play him this week in Sydney.

Or let's just give the actually people involved the benefit of the doubt. Because those conversations would be occurring already.

Gave them the benefit of the doubt 18 times this year already. Regretted it on 13 occasions. And those conversations "might" be occurring, trust me I've considered it, it's ok. Melt still applies.

I think Richo was actually on the money last night. Freeman is finding plenty of the football which is great, but he’s missing the one thing that got him drafted in the top ten.

I’m not so sure he’s able to get that back, Richo seems to think that it might just be in his mind though.

If he could get his dynamic speed back it would be huge for the club.
see i agree with that thinking that Freezer aint quite hitting the notes we want him to hit ... but then the thing that contradicts that is when we have guys like Sav , Weller , Newnes, Lonie and Wright to continue to get games when they are equally not hitting those notes that got them drafted ... it does very much look like a boys club and richo's favs get the breaks

When they go back especially lonie he is always in the best. The vfl is a bloody weak competition and we are a weak side yet freeman struggles to get in the best. If he was ready he should now be dominant

Mav's constant selection has been puzzling. But Sav has been very good this year and warranted selection every week. Newnes has struggled at times this year but has also been fairly good since moving forward and provided more in that role than most who have rotated through there.

Wright and Lonie have both been dropped after poor performances and re-selected after strong VFL performances, which is exactly how selection integrity should work.

again differant players and differant roles but Bailey Rice showed more at AFL level then he ever did at VFL level so he is worth a try ... i mean we are not advocating putting in a guy who has had shockers at VFL level he has been good pretty consistantly and really theres a question to how many times you try the same guys expecting differant results in output ... by all means if you put Freezer in and he is out of his depth then fine send him back to VFL but we are a bottom 4 team if we cant experiment with him now when can you? honestly if he gets 10 posessions and has no impact then thats no differant then running weller

its not a dig at Sav or Newnes as such more a highlight that at times they have had dips in their performance that have for some players been grounds for getting sent back to the two's yet they are given a benifit of the doubt to turn it around in the 1's .. by this if we are applying a standard that you only get in the team if you are playing at 100% of yourself surely if you are playing under that you face being dropped?
i do agree selection integrity is important but we are bottom four we have a handful of games left i dont see any issue in rolling the dice on someone ... again its not like im saying give the bloke who hasnt got a touch at VFL level a shot Freezer has been pretty consistant...
it might be wishful thinking, it might be crazy but i just have a gut feeling that with the step up to AFL with the higher quality around him Frezzer will lift rather than drop on the big stage ... Lonie and Write have shown they dont lift ...

It's all starting to make sense now [emoji848]

Totally different. Freeman’s issues are about being able to trust his body enough to push it to the next level.

The other guys don’t have that issue, that just aren’t very good.

So Weller and Newnes are fully fit then. No excuses about them not being fit enough to push their games to the next level?

Even at 75% Freeza is still quicker than Spook and Dave and most certainly more agile than Dave. The line from the club infers that he has no other value as a player if he can't hit top speed, but that is just total BS! Spook is a bit off atm from what looks like his shoulders again, and Dave is a known quantity with a year to go before he's likely to retire, and our season is shot to hell anyway. It's logical and sensible that Freeza and Hugh should be getting games now and till the end of the year if they can manage it, unless the club has written them off already....Others may differ of course, but I can't fathom a reason not to at this point.

Have a feeling armo is a better player than freeman so they aren’t dropping him. Dunstan is also better based on how they have performed at sandy when he was dropped. I love this magical thought that a guy comes in and will do better than guys in there but when the guys in have played at sandy they are always in the best. If freeman is slow which he was 4 weeks ago I can’t see who he replaces. He certainly isn’t a defensive forward or goal kicker. He is an onballer and I reckon we are slow enough there.
