Jimmy Bartel just speaking the heart and mind of every St Kilda fan... he’s averaging 29 disposals a game and he can’t get in a side that’s bottom 4!!! It doesn’t even make logical sense. Regardless of what they need to see or want to see or hope to see, 29 a game.... any other club the bloke has probably played 5 senior games already.

Cho has shown that he likes to develop players by focusing heavily on their negatives, as was evident with Sincs and Steele at the start of the year. Good people management should be about allowing people to use their strengths and building on their deficiencies but that involves some creativity that we've never seen from him so far.

I think Lonie went straight back into the side based on "selection integrity" - he performed at the level, was sore and missed, so came back in. He will stay in the side this week.

Same with Billings when he went back down to VFL level - he did what was required.

Surely Freeman has now done what is required.

Have we got the dogs this week???
Don’t expect too much talent to come in. They might try too hard and we jag the win.

He’s been on him for 6 weeks and I think he’s done more than enough to suggest he is ready for the next level... I don’t care if it’s 37 uncontested possesions the fact is he had it 37 times , the most of anybody on the ground. Tom Mitchell ground away in the NEAFL for his chance too, people still question the impact he has, when he is wearing the Brownlow medal this year I’m sure opinions will change!

Freezer has to play, he just has to.

Assuming that most of our coaches will be getting the arse from Wednesday, I suspect that it might be a good counter to the negative press. Honestly if it doesn't happen, I will have listened to the last saints game this weekend, till Cho is sacked.

I'm amazed that a midfielder can rack up 37 touches and not get one tackle.

Still hoping he plays, but that wont look great coming into the coaches meeting.
Saw him try and tackle at one stage and bounced off the guy. Does intent to tackle count? He did had 5 tackles the week before against Richmond.
BTW. Article on the Saints Website this morning talking up Paton with only a passing mention of Freeman
I feel like the Club is trolling us.

See you in 2021 Scrappy.

Too bad the kid can only run one way.

As I said before, he can take Ross's position and play behind the ball.

He at least will hit a target more than once in three disposals and would not be much slower than Ross.

Or he can take Wellers spot. Running about, getting second to the ball, bumped off every marking contest, and missing every second tackle should be easy enough for him to emulate.

Weller would go a lot better at the mark of he brought his hands together.

Accurate description yet sadly missing flexing for the camera when he's <5m from the ball.

Couldn't agree more, if it doesn't happen it's literally ECO scenario surrounding Freezer because if he can't get in off the back of 37 and a goal I mean....seriously. Newnes has had games this year with no tackles and held his spot I'm sure others have too, can't be the be all and end all, as if he's going to come up in the senior team and not try and lay tackles lol.

So true. Should never go a game without a tackle.

But perhaps largely role based. Over June/July his tackle count is 4, 9, 5, 3, 5, 5 and then last weeks game. So he usually does crack in.

I mean he had 37 (78%), 13 marks and a goal. Playing against the dogs infront of a home crowd. Plenty of underperforming players to drop for him (weller....)

But then the saints release a VFL report which is all about Patton's 22 touch BOG performance with Freeman not named in the best 6 players. So I dunno what gives there

I thought Paton looked good with his ball use and seemed to be more effective than Freeman against Box Hill, but surely Richo needs to give these guys games now, as we a had a few passengers against GWS who should really go the VFL to freshen up...unless Richo thinks we're going to make the finals?

Really how does he get a game / it blow's me away how he plays ahead of Paton , Coffield , Hunter , Freeman.

I’m expecting a melt of polar icecap proportions if Freeze does not get selected this week.

Hoefully slobbo puts us out of our misery and asks richo again tonight on 360

hypothetically ..... imagine Freezer does get a gander this week, he comes out with a bang grabing 30 disposals 2 goals and we win comfortably... surely that hurts Richo's cause some what ... i mean hes been sitting on the kid for almost half the season... even the neutral supporters will be thinking WTF hes been doing in VFL ...
