Very negative Brian.Jason Cripps is a similar example, had chronic hamstrings and lost a lot of power, ended up only playing 50 games. I think we'd all take 50 games from the young fella at the moment.

Because he has alot of talent. Because if we get him right then we effectively got a top 10 pick for a 2nd rounder. With his history the question is why did we trade for him?

I want him to play 200+I like to think realistic to where he is at the moment? If he gets to 50 games it may take 5-7 years, he's never going to play 20 games a season I wouldn't think? Would be stoked if he plays 50.
You're not comparing someone who has played 3 and a half VFL games in 3 years to someone who was a 157 game AFL premiership player are you? It makes no sense to anyone except Freeman to guarantee himself some coin for this trade to have happened.Because he has alot of talent. Shaun B at the hawks was about to have his leg fall off when they traded for him, i think he missed the first half of 2010 with the same injury. Look at him now....
Yup and Xavier Clarke had terrible issuesCripps hamstring off the bone? was it Leigh Fisher who also had Hamstring problems
Yeah and what about Smith/Cripps/Gumbleton ect? It's just as easy to name players who have failed from hamstring injuries as players that have come back from them.I want him to play 200+
Rioli/Wood/Higgins are all examples of turning it around chronic injury wise.
I have faith.
so we should all just expect the worst then?Yeah and what about Smith/Cripps/Gumbleton ect? It's just as easy to name players who have failed from hamstring injuries as players that have come back from them.
Not sure what difference it makes about how many games they have played. My comparison was that if someone who was apparently finished and cooked can come back and be the player he is now.WHy cant Freeman become something still? You're not comparing someone who has played 3 and a half VFL games in 3 years to someone who was a 157 game AFL premiership player are you? He told me he sometimes vomited because of the pain. My comparison to Cripper is in regards to him not realising his potential because of his hammies.
Amazingly he had a dodgy heart all along and it was never picked up, shocking for him!
Again, all of those players have been able to get onto the park, freeman has not.Not sure what difference it makes about how many games they have played. Maybe you would of preferred Daniel Menzel? or Shaun Higgins looks like a great example right now.
The point is, he is here for 3 years. We will get him right
great job articulating that mate.Have you ever done hamstring curls and when you get up you have that almost tickly type feeling in your hamstrings? Hamstring "awareness" is essentially a mixture of feeling fatigue and tightness. You can flex and extend your leg no worries but you have a general feeling in the muscle group. If you've ever done a hamstring you'll know what I'm talking about as you'd have felt it at some stage in your rehab. As Freeman was missing a game due to the bye they would have (I assume) put him through a pretty tough session to get high intensity loads into him. It just means his hamstrings weren't happy with the load so they'll drop him back to recover and build him back up. The scan was negative. It's not ideal but I'm essentially no less confident that he will be a player at the Saints.

pretty sure thats close to the mark BS! i remember him being an all action midfielder and they said his heart wouldst cope at the intensity of being a midfielder at AFL level.Josh was someone with a slow heart from what I understand, it didn't allow him to play at a high intensity or something like that? Coaching kids now and playing in the Essendon league.

Menzel missed something like 1000 days or something ridiculous. Higgins missed the majority of a couple of seasons.Again, all of those players have been able to get onto the park, freeman has not.
It was a bad trade, call me a pessimist or whatever you please but it was a bad move by the club.
Was the scan negative ?
So he had some DOMS?
