everyone get down to box hill and show support, unlike pies fans who took the piss out of him the whole time

ST KILDA recruit Nathan Freeman will play for the Sandringham reserves on Saturday as he steps up his recovery from hamstring injuries.

Freeman, who was repeatedly sidelined in his two years at Collingwood, strained his right hamstring again in December during his first summer with the Saints.

The 20-year-old did not feature in the NAB Challenge, but with just over a month of full training under his belt, will play in his first competitive match of the year against the Box Hill Hawks reserves.

He will be joined in the team by another senior-listed Saint in Brandon White, who was selected with pick No.40 in last year's draft, while rookies Josh Saunders and Nick Coughlan will also feature in the clash at at Box Hill City Oval.

Recruited with pick No.10 at the 2013 NAB AFL Draft, Freeman left the Magpies in search of a fresh start, partly due to the fitness troubles he had suffered at the Holden Centre.

The Saints traded a future second-round pick for the speedy midfielder.

Also, lets not expect Dangerfield. Lets just let this kid play and find some form, earn a spot in the seniors.

Good luck to the young fella. Hope he gets through unscathed. Also why is white playing d league? Is he struggling for form at the moment

I don't think anyone would be expecting anything close to a Dangerfield yet!

... I'm expecting more of a Luke Shuey type game. Next week I expect the Dangerfield level performance.

I really don't know where Maxy came up with that comparison from. I have seen Danger close up and he's a solid tall player. I was surprised how small Nathan is both height wise and physically. They must have something in common that I can't see. I reckon Freeman looks more likely to be a Jack Steven type.

I'd take that in an instant.

Well if we had more than one Jack Steven then the commentators could refer to the Saints' Jack Stevens.

Oh wait...

Probably has something to do with the restriction on saints players in the 1's.

Really good news for Nathan. Some game time would reenergise his commitment to stay focused on his strengthening and retraining program! A few medico's and recruiters will have their hearts in their mouths I think. Good luck to our man!
