Seriously hope we can get him right, would be a shame for someone with so much ability missing out on his chosen career.
Not sure what sort of training he is doing for his hammies, but I`d be having him skipping, skipping & then some more skipping. One of the best exercises for strengthening all leg muscles. :thumbsu:
I remember as a young bloke doing this when I partook in a little bit of marquess of queensberry rules & never once had hamstring problems. Admittedly it was only a square ring, but if you saw how fast I used to travel backwards, you would understand.
P.S. On Carlisle, only about 12 weeks before he`s back training at the club. :p

Someone needs to get him some shoes that aren't converse all stars. We need a podiatrist to get him some of those old-dude grey slipper shoes with the zips and a pair of orthotics.

I asked one of my gym junkie friends (but certainly not a pediatrist) about all-stars and if they are bad for posture/hamstrings etc.

He said they actually aren't bad. The flat sole some means that it stretches out your hamstring more so than a normal shoe with arch support. The problem is that people aren't used to using their hamstrings on a consistent basis due to supported shoes, and thus have problems with hamstrings after wearing all-stars.

Because if you think about it, the best shoes are no shoes, and wearing no shoes offers no support.

Another setback is concerning to say the least.
Yes but not unexpected.

Would be interested to know if every player who gets hammy tightness gets scans or withdrawn from games.

Because they are being ultra conservative every little thing gets blown up.

For people to suggest he is gone seems very premature.
Dissapointment more than concerning maybe.

Would love to see him playing consistently and we need to remember there is still more than half a season to go in 2016.

Hopefully it's at least mentally refreshing for him. As long as he's in a good state of mind he'll keep working hard and staying positive.
But Fishers is an actual tear, sounds like Freemans is precautionary from what MG said the club thinks.
Scan will confirm hopefully.

Thanks for posting that!

Makes sense now why some of the 'more senior' people on here struggled with them while those who have worn them for ages have had no issues.

Ever heard of Simon Black/Luke Parker/Hanneberry/etc. Hint: Carlisle was also a second round pick.

You really need to surf bigfooty more if you consider my post is the apex of ridiculous posts on bigfooty. What I posted is quite tame. Ever read any of GG.exe's posts! Nah, just don't read his stuff, it might shatter your definition of outrageous.

I think people do quit despite money if they figure out if they are going to recover or not.

For all the extreme reactions to my post, the reality is Freeman is a gamble. Some percentage is that he recovers to play and some percentage that he quits completely. The recurring nature of his injuries mean that it might mean a scenario where Freeman is told to quit by the doctors/loses faith. Just coz he has a contract doesn't mean he'll continue in it if he believes that recovery isn't possible.

I am just saying I won't be surprised if that happens. It's a higher possibility now. Just because a scenario is extreme, doesn't mean it won't happen. If I said to you at the end of last year, "Hey, Cloke isn't going that well, he might end up in VFL on ANZAC day weekend next year", you may have called me a troll. I didn't say that coz I don't follow Collingwood that well. But given Freeman's record so far, it's a possibility, which sounds extreme in today's world, but is a real possibility if Freeman continues to have recurring hamstrings. (And not as improbable as an alien invasion)

I am not saying that's exactly what's going to happen. I hope Freeman recovers and plays 300 games for the saints, but I won't be surprised if Freeman just doesn't make it and quits by the end of this year/early next season.
Back peddle

Get this man a new set of hammy's!
A true supporter would remove there own and give freezer there's for the good of the rebuild.

So who's it gonna be?

Well, Jamie Cox said they have a few more options for Freeman and he expected Freeman to be a long term player for st kilda.

So, there you go.
